Gotta love the rumor mill! A couple of Warner Bros. movies of interest to MarketSaw have been involved in recent banter that they are going to get green lit soon, namely:
- Logan's Run - Warner Bros.
Joel Silver is back at it again restructuring and producing this 1976 film for today's audiences. The story revolves around a society where people are executed at a certain age and anyone who denies this law is a runner. Sandmen enforce these rules. Logan was a Sandman who elected to run... hence the name.
- Shannara - Warner Bros.
Based on Terry Brooks' series of 14 novels of a half-man, half-elf family set in the future of magic and swords. According to Variety, "The Elfstones of Shannara" will be the first movie adapted (even though it is the second of the series) after finally convincing Brooks to allow his books to be filmed (My guess is his percentages may have helped his decision).
Go WB!!

I love Logan's run.One question:
ReplyDeleteWill there be anything original from hollywood??
Steven
I am assuming you mean original content in the movie "Logan's Run"?
ReplyDeleteI hope so. I have not heard about specific examples, but I hope there is a fair amount of chase scenes like there is in the Bourne movies.
If you mean in general - originality from Hollywood - look no further than Avatar in 2009. Completely original stuff from the master, James Cameron.
