Jim here. AVATAR is rolling in it. London's British Film Institute has sold over $1 million in advance ticket sales for AVATAR at its IMAX theater alone. The BFI IMAX has sold 47,487 tickets which according to Fox is more than any other outlet in the world across all formats.
The theater is staying open 24 hours a day to handle the demand. FYI: THE DARK KNIGHT took in 37, 929 advance seats last year in advance of the movie.
