Dreamworks Animation's Kicking It Up A Notch! New Trailers For PUSS IN BOOTS And KUNG FU PANDA 2!

Nice to see these trailers hit the web! I've been waiting to see the creative style of PUSS IN BOOTS (PIB) and just how DWA will tackle KUNG FU PANDA 2 (KFP2) - the first was of course warmly received.

Both these movies look like sure fire block busters. Time to buy some DWA stock I guess.

Here's the storyline for KUNG FU PANDA 2:
Po is now living his dream as The Dragon Warrior, protecting the Valley of Peace alongside his friends and fellow kung fu masters, The Furious Five – Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper and Monkey. But Po’s new life of awesomeness is threatened by the emergence of a formidable villain, who plans to use a secret, unstoppable weapon to conquer China and destroy kung fu. It is up to Po and The Furious Five to journey across China to face this threat and vanquish it. But how can Po stop a weapon that can stop kung fu? He must look to his past and uncover the secrets of his mysterious origins; only then will he be able to unlock the strength he needs to succeed.

KFP2 features the voices of Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Dustin Hoffman, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Lucy Liu, David Cross, James Hong, Gary Oldman, Michelle Yeoh, Jean-Claude Van Damme, & Victor Garber.

Here's the storyline for PUSS IN BOOTS:
Puss In Boots – one of the most beloved characters of the Shrek universe – tells the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss’s (Antonio Banderas) early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) and the street-savvy Kitty (Salma Hayek) to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs.

PIB will feature the voice stylings of Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton & Amy Sedaris.

Look for a November 4, 2011 release date for PIB!



I love how crazy KFP2 is going to look in stereoscopic 3D! Some of those scenes look very complex and yet a lot of it is in slo-mo to allow the 3D to pull you in. Nice parade dragon scene!

KUNG FU PANDA: THE KABOOM OF DOOM TV Teaser

We are starting to see some more marketing muscle for KUNG FU PANDA: THE KABOOM OF DOOM but certainly nothing in your face yet. The first teaser was just barely a teaser - but the staring contest was very cool.

MUST WATCH: Teaser Clip With ICE AGE's Scrat - CONTINENTAL CRACK-UP

Man I love Scrat! He is the flag-bearer for modern animation comedy if you ask me. You are going to love this teaser preview of the short entitled: SCRAT'S CONTINENTAL CRACK-UP. Want to see the whole animated stereoscopic short? It will be pre-rolling in front of GULLIVER'S TRAVELS when it opens Christmas day.

I have a sinking feeling about GULLIVER'S TRAVELS however. Nothing in the trailers is really appealing to me. This short may be the best part of going to see the Jack Black comedy.

Here's the official outline for the short:
The special holiday treat sees Scrat still scrambling after the cursed acorn he’s been craving since the first Ice Age film. Only this time, the chase has world-changing consequences. Forget what you’ve learned in geology about the continents forming as a result of massive tectonic shifts and volcanic eruptions tearing land masses apart. SCRAT’S CONTINENTAL CRACK-UP reveals that these seismic… crack-ups… came about from Scrat’s nutty misadventures.

Saw this trailer in glorious 3D pre-rolling in front of MEGAMIND on the weekend and it ROCKED! Loved it. Funny!!

Here's the movie's storyline:
Po (Jack Black), Master Shifu (Dustin Hoffman), Master Tigress (Angelina Jolie), and the rest of The Furious Five will join forces with The SoothSayer (Michelle Yeoh), Master Skunkman (James Woods), Master Croc (Jean-Claude Van Damme), and Master Thundering Rhino (Victor Garber) on their quest to defeat Lord Shen (Gary Oldman), a powerful king who possesses a deadly weapon that can destroy Kung Fu forever. It is up to Po, The Furious Five, and their new friends to stop this weapon. But first, Po must confront his long-lost past.



Really looking forward to this sequel a ton! Bring it on Dreamworks Animation!

New GULLIVER'S TRAVELS Trailer Now On The Interwebs!

Got the new trailer for Fox's GULLIVER'S TRAVELS for you and I must say it had gone up in my list of movies to see since the first look. I am seeing a semblance of a storyline now and I like the comedic tie-in with our modern world.

The effects look good (Weta is working on them!) from what we have been shown and Black seems to be funny - though I was fooled (and many others) by the trailers for YEAR ONE on that regard. So here's hoping he knocks it out of the park!

Here's the storyline:
In a contemporary re–imagining of the classic tale, Black stars as Gulliver, a big–talking mailroom clerk who, after he's mistakenly assigned a travel piece on the Bermuda Triangle, suddenly finds himself a giant among men when he washes ashore on the hidden island of Lilliput, home to a population of very tiny people. At first enslaved by the diminutive and industrious Liliputians, and later declared their hero, Gulliver comes to learn that it's how big you are on the inside that counts.
