More Reasons Why a Future Avatar MMORPG Will Happen...

Ever hear of Multiverse? Check out how is on their board of Advisors...

Yep, James Cameron. Like I have said in previous posts, Cameron envisions his movie going audience being fully interactive with his movies. Along comes Multiverse and who knows where they are headed if Cameron starts channeling ideas and money their way. Multiverse allows users to create their OWN WORLDS and then charge subscriptions to enter them. The potential is endless when you meld this notion with motion pictures. Imagine being able to follow a story line with you actually IN the movie watching it. "I think that car is going to blow up... hmmm I want to watch it from a high angle while falling downward - and YOU CAN.

So yes Ubisoft is coming out with a bitchin' version of Avatar. But I have my sights clearly on the horizon with whatever Cameron has up his sleeve. And that's one heckuva long sleeve.

Console Lation Prize...

Ok, finally some clarity. Hollywood Reporter reports that Jon Landau, Avatar's producer made a statement on whether the game will be a MMORPG:

"Landau said the game's narrative will not be a strict retelling of the film but instead play out as a nonlinear story that shapes itself to the player's action inside the alien world. Ubisoft's deal does not cover the rights for a massively multiplayer online game, an idea that Cameron has previously spoken about as a way to introduce players to the franchise. Landau said that game is still a possibility."

So retract my last post's statement about it being a MMO game. Thought we could go by what the big guy (James Cameron) himself had already said to BusinessWeek. Bah! MMO is the way to go. Oh well, console lation prize.
