Check The Latest Poster And TV Spot For Favreau's THE JUNGLE BOOK

I am so looking forward to seeing director Jon Favreau's THE JUNGLE BOOK! It's natively shot in 3D and with High Dynamic Range HDR imagery. The visuals are looking so darn good. And as I said it's a Favreau movie which I've been salivating for recently. I loved CHEF.

Favreau hits all the right notes with his comments relating to the massive audience for the movie: "You are serving many masters... you are trying to honor the memory, preconceived memory of people who grew up with it, but you are also trying to make a movie that appeals to the full audience -- that is ethically what we set out to do. We are trying to pay tribute, and we can also see that with the visual effects, we are pushing the technology. We are mixing the old story with cutting edge technology".

Here is the movie's storyline:
Directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, THE JUNGLE BOOK is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong'o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. THE JUNGLE BOOK seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world.

Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK opens on April 15. Here's the official website.

MUST WATCH: New International Trailer For STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

Well hello. This new Japanese trailer for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS looks stunning! Many new scenes and not too much given away regarding spoilers - although more than what we're used to from Abrams. Certainly there are visual spoilers and characters have their closeups but don't be worried about learning too much of the storyline. That being said, this trailer goes into more depth than the domestic materials so as usual you are being warned.

And... the poster is new as well! Adam Driver's Kylo Ren dominates the new Korean poster and it looks sensational.

SWTFA is going to look amazing in 3D. I've got that feeling. I think everything about this movie is going to be perfect. The story, the imagery, the soundtrack, the characters, the soul. The pressure on JJ Abrams to deliver this thing must be off the scales, but he seems to be taking everything in stride. I've seen the domestic trailer in IMAX and it brings chills. Can't wait for its 3D.

I've already have my ticket bought for opening night and I urge you to buy ahead of time as well. You'll want to see this thing early to 1. enjoy it and 2. avoid the spoilers that will undoubtedly be flying EVERYWHERE on social media the day after opening.

Enjoy the trailer!

STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS opens on December 17.

New Poster Of Bilbo For THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES !

Tim here, and it looks like we'll be getting the next trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies soon because yesterday Peter Jackson shared a new poster on his Official Facebook Page. The image to the left is the new poster. It depicts Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) with his sword, Sting, thrust out in front of him, and what lies behind him is the devastation of a battle with burning flags and what looks to be the ruin of Dale.

Now there's nothing that explicitly states that we're getting a new trailer soon, however due to comments earlier in the year it's more than probable. Back in July when the teaser trailer was released we had been informed that the full theatrical trailer would hit in the fall. Our belief was that it would possibly be October. With the release of this poster on Jackson's Facebook it sparks the need to pay close attention again to Jackson's page. Most of the activity since the teaser trailer debut has been with regards to The Hobbit Fan Contest. Thus, this poster is an indication that activity on the page is about to increase. And we're still early in October so it could be the end of October that we'll actually get to see the trailer released. However, we're going to keep an open eye out for you and post it hear as soon as it's available.

In the meantime enjoy this new poster. I hope it's the start of many more Character Posters that we'll be seeing leading up to the release of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. The movie hits theaters December 17th, 2014 in IMAX 3D, RealD 3D, HFR 3D - all shot in native 3D with 3ality Technica rigs!

SDCC 2014: First Poster For THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES; First Look This Saturday In Hall H !

Glorious! Love this poster!! It's not often I am so elated by a poster but in this case I will make an exception. The Hobbit's twitter account just launched the movie into marketing mode with this poster and that Warner Bros will host a first look in Hall H, Saturday at 10am. So if you're at the San Diego Comic-con and are planning on lining up... do so right now!

Think about it. The Lord of the Rings trilogy. The first two Hobbit movies. Decades of trials and tribulations to get this all on screen and it all boils down to this final chapter! Smaug is rolling in!

The poster amplifies the setting, depicting the great dragon Smaug (Benedict Cumberbatch) staring down Bard the Bowman (Luke Evans) of Lake-Town. And yes, Lake-Town is made of wood. Uh-oh.

Here's the storyline for the movie:
THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES opens on December 17 in HFR 3D, 3D and IMAX 3D. This marks the end of one of the greatest fantasy epics ever told, and presumably the end of the Tolkien Middle-earth universe as well, at least for quite some time. Sad really. I hope this movie owns up to it's pedigree. THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES is shot in native 3D using 3ality Technica rigs in 48 frames per second. Can't wait!!

Two New Posters For Frank Miller's SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR

Check two new posters for Dimension's SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. The obviously stylized posters are for the obviously stylized movie franchise but this time the movie will be in 3D - perfect for this genre based on the graphic novels of Frank Miller (300).

I'm actually much more excited about this movie because of the 3D than the original. Not surprising coming from me I know, but I really think that 3D will dramatically improve the audiences suspension of disbelief for this genre. Can't wait!

Here's the storyline for the movie:
Co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller reunite to bring Miller’s visually stunning “Sin City” graphic novels back to the screen in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR. Weaving together two of Miller’s classic stories with new tales, the town’s most hard boiled citizens cross paths with some of its more reviled inhabitants. SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR is the follow up to Rodriguez and Miller’s 2005 groundbreaking film, FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY.

SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR opens on August 22 in 3D.

New Poster For CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Have a look at the most recent poster for Marvel's CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER. Obviously the Helicarrier is in a heap of trouble with the obligatory sparks and smoke rising in the background.

I'll be reviewing my new Sideshow Collectable Captain America Rescue Version figure soon as well, so look for that in the coming weeks.

Here's the storyline for the movie:
After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER opens on April 4 in 3D.

New Poster of GODZILLA Dwarfing The San Francisco Skyline

I'm really loving the new poster from Legendary Pictures' GODZILLA. Talk about massive! Look at the size of him beside the Transamerica building in San Francisco (850' tall). So that makes him what, 1400-1500' tall?

And he comes to us courtesy of an exciting new filmmaker who knows enough about huge monsters to be dangerous. Gareth Edwards (MONSTERS) accepted the challenge and I expect him to hand us a lovingly crafted, thrilling, edge of your seat monster movie. Anything less just wouldn't be Gareth Edwards.

The movie stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, Kan Watanabe and Juliette Binoche.

GODZILLA in 3D opens on May 16. More info when we get it!

New Hi Res Triple Panel Poster For THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2

Sony has released a high resolution triple panel poster for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 revealing the villains that spidey will have to deal with including Electro, Rhino and Green Goblin. Some have complained that this is too many villains to deal with in one movie. While I tend to agree at a high level, I'm entering into this thing with an open mind. However one has to remember these are top villains in the webhead world - I can't imagine these guys getting dispatched in just one movie. We'll see.

Here's the storyline for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2:
We’ve always known that Spider-Man’s most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict lies ahead. It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 opens on May 2, 2014.

LOOK: New Poster For NURSE 3D - Release Set February 2014!

Lionsgate has finally given a release date for it's horror movie NURSE 3D and the studio decided to inject us with a new poster featuring Paz de la Huerta. Clearly it's an exploitation project and I'm very curious how it's all going to wind up looking on the big screen.

The first poster was a little too graphic for MarketSaw - but you can view it here.

I know the stereographer of the movie, Brent Robinson and we met recently in Toronto and discussed NURSE 3D and his upcoming projects. I think I'll try to line up an interview with him if he can squeeze me into his busy schedule so we can discuss the movie. If you have any questions, let me know!

Here's the storyline for the movie:
Nurse 3D is a thriller/horror film directed by Doug Aarniokoski and written by David Loughery starring Paz de la Huerta, Katrina Bowden, Corbin Bleu. By day Abby Russell is a dedicated nurse, someone you wouldn’t hesitate to trust your life with. But by night, her real work begins…using her smoldering sexuality she lures cheating men to their brutal deaths and exposes them for who they really are. When a younger nurse starts to suspect Abby’s actions and compromises her master plan, Abby must find a way to outsmart her long enough to bring the cheater you’d least expect to justice.

NURSE 3D opens on February 7, 2014.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD - New TV Spot, Posters For Heimdall And Malekith

How about an update from Asgard? We've got two new posters and a TV Spot from the brain-trust at Marvel and I'm liking them!

The posters reflect a touch of classic artistry and a stunning lack of... sparks. Going out on a limb aren't they? Frankly I like the clean lines of the work. More of the same please! The first poster depicts Heimdall (played by Idris Elba) in his standard guardian pose with death reigning down to Asgard. Malekith (played by Christopher Eccleston) is in mid-pose placing his mask on during an invasion it seems.

The TV Spot (revealed during AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.) is very engaging. Loving how Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman is playing a much more important role this time around. It humanizes the Asgard environment which will be key for continued suspension of disbelief.

Here's the official storyline for the movie:
Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s Thor and Marvel’s The Avengers, Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

THOR: THE DARK WORLD opens in 3D on November 8. More info when I get it!

Marvel Update: New Images For THOR: THE DARK WORLD And THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2, ANT-MAN Changes Release Date

Ready for some Marvel news? You should be 'cause any Marvel news is of course 3D news! We've got new images for THOR: THE DARK WORLD and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 - ok, it's a new poster for THOR 2 but the post's title would have been too long so...

But I digress. First up is that poster. LOKI. Looking gothic, regal, crazy and formidable all at once. Asgard has seen better days! The flying objects look fascinating with two very different and distinct shapes. OF COURSE there's sparks. That's a no-brainer these days, but I like the message getting across here:  Tom Hiddleston has definitely arrived as an actor and Loki is his main vehicle. Perhaps even rivaling Chris Hemsworth's Thor? Perhaps indeed.

The image for THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 leaves much to be desired for me. In fact it wouldn't mean all that much without the tagline that director Marc Webb added to the tweet that revealed it:

“This is what happens when you try to give Electro a ticket.” - @MarcW #AmazingSpiderMan2 #ThroughTheWebb

Suddenly it takes on new meaning and I like the humor. Electro was my second fav villain for Spidey after The Lizard. Yes, I wasn't all that enthusiastic about Green Goblin. So, that's an "ok" reveal Marc :-)

Finally, the braintrust at Marvel are doing something very interesting. Something either very smart or something very stupid. They're putting director Edgar Wright's ANT-MAN up against BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN! Marvel has moved ANT-MAN from a November 6, 2015 date to the July 31, 2015 date which is of course in harm's way with the aforementioned DC Comics juggernaut opening on July 17. Is this a sacrifice play to lessen the box office of the mighty tandem that will eventually anchor JUSTICE LEAGUE? Or do they want to take advantage of the superhero media coverage that will be amped up during that period and boost ANT-MAN's box office sky high? Both?

Regardless, it's an interesting move. It could backfire but I doubt it. Don't forget that Marvel also has THE AVENGERS 2: AGE OF ULTRON opening in the summer of 2015 as well. It's a summer to remember absolutely.

The native 3D production is again being shot in 48 frames per second with Red Epics on 3ality Technica rigs! I can't wait to see what Peter Jackson has in store for us this time around. That trailer hints at some amazing effects that will be blowing us away I'm sure!

Here's the storyline for the movie:
The second in a trilogy of films adapting the enduringly popular masterpiece The Hobbit, by J.R.R. Tolkien, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug continues the adventure of the title character Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) as he journeys with the Wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) and thirteen Dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage) on an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor.

Here's the storyline for the movie:
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER will pick up where MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present day Washington, D.C.

First Poster For HERCULES 3D Hits

The first poster for HERCULES 3D has landed. Director Renny Harlin (CLIFFHANGER, DIE HARD 2) and Millenium have mounted their marketing campaign for their version (*sigh* Yes, there is another version getting ready for us too from director Brett Ratner starring Dwayne Johnson - due August 2014) and Harlin is shooting right now in Bulgaria.

Harlin's HERCULES 3D stars Kellan Lutz (TWILIGHT) in the titular role, Liam McIntyre (TV's SPARTACUS) and Scott Adkins (UNIVERSAL SOLDIER: DAY OF RECKONING) playing King Amphitryon.

Apparently Harlin has $70 million to play with so hopefully we'll see a great product with great 3D. They're aiming for a March 2014 release to beat Ratner to the box office.

Twitch reports that the storyline for the movie will go something like this:
Myths are that during Amphitryon's absence, Alcmene (Hercule's mother) became pregnant by Zeus, who disguised himself as Amphitryon, when he visited her; she then became pregnant again by her real husband upon his return. Of these unions were born twin boys, of whom Iphicles was the son of Amphitryon, Hercules the son of Zeus.

More on HERCULES 3D when we have it!

London Gets Hammered Again - This Time In A New STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS Poster

First London is annihilated in G.I. JOE: RETALIATION and now it's clearly in trouble again in STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. I'm rather partial to London having walked most of the Thames area so that will be enough now thank you. :-)

The poster hints further than just London hurting though, with the "Earth Will Fall" title. The box office opens for the UK run of STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS tomorrow (releases May 9 there).

Nothing Moves Like Jaeger! Check All Five Giants From Del Toro's PACIFIC RIM!!

Here they all are - the defense of the Earth lies in the hands of these 5 Jaegers and the pilots that run them! I am simply thrilled at what I am seeing coming from Guillermo del Toro's production of PACIFIC RIM. So far, it's the perfect popcorn movie for me! I'm just going to let myself go and be engulfed in all this thing's majesty.

Bring it on Guillermo!!

Here's the movie's storyline:
When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes—a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi)—who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind’s last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

PACIFIC RIM opens on July 12.

Cool Trailer Teaser For THE WOLVERINE And Two New Posters!

James Mangold's THE WOLVERINE just released a cool new teaser via Twitter for his upcoming trailer which will be dropping on Wednesday.

It looks action packed as you would expect from a Marvel movie and it does whet the appetite for what's coming.

As far as the posters go, I think it'll be intriguing to see Wolverine in Japan - I haven't read the comics for the character so I will be walking in fresh. The last poster seems to me to be a flashback to the old martial art movie posters - what do you think?

Here's the storyline for the movie:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

THE WOLVERINE opens on July 26. Bring it on!
