Release Date!! Very Proud To Announce 40 BELOW AND FALLING Is Set To Premiere This Month!

I am so very proud to announce that the movie I'm producing, 40 BELOW AND FALLING, is premiering on Super Channel on August 27 at 8pm ET on SC4! I love working with this talented group of people - simply a huge amount of excitement about this release and I have to say Jewel Staite and Shawn Roberts really nailed their roles. Our director, Dylan Pearce put his heart and soul into this and it SHOWS! It's a ton of fun - I can't wait for you all to see it.

The Super Channel premiere will be in 2D and I'll have more details about further distribution in the coming weeks.

Also - look for more media from the production coming very soon!

Here's the official press release:
12pt Media’s Romantic Adventure/Comedy 40 Below and Falling PREMIERES on Super Channel on August 27th at 8 pm ET on SC4.

Directed by Dylan Pearce (Baby Blues, I Think I Do), the film stars actors Jewel Staite (Firefly, The Killing) and Shawn Roberts (Resident Evil, X-Men) along with a superb Canadian support cast that includes Cindy Busby (Heartland, Cedar Cove), Shaun Johnston (Heartland), Mark Meer (Mass Effect 3) and Hollywood trained grizzly bear Whopper from Innisfail, Alberta.

40 Below and Falling tells the story of Kate Carter (Jewel Staite), a small town school teacher who is moving back to the big city for her wedding. When a blizzard strikes, her flight gets cancelled and the roads are shut down, leaving Kate no choice but to hop on the back of a surly stranger named Redford’s (Shawn Roberts) snowmobile. As they battle the winter elements together and their adventures unfold, Kate slowly starts to question the choice she has made about the man she is set to marry.

The film was made in Edmonton and across Alberta by Producer Andrew Scholotiuk (Baby Blues, I Think I Do), Executive Producers Darren Arsenault (Baby Blues, I Think I Do), Brad Ferguson, Pierre-Andre Rochat, Roma Roth, Associate Producer Jim Dorey and a diverse Canadian cast and crew. Produced in association with EFF Media Investments and with the assistance of the Government of Alberta Media Fund, the Canadian Film or Video Tax Credit Program, and DARO Films. 40 Below and Falling is one of the first romantic adventure/comedies to be shot in both 3D and 2D.

MEN IN BLACK III Screening In Germany Sets World Record

An impressive 6,819 fans watched the premiere of MEN IN BLACK III at Germany's O2 World which just so happens to be a new Guinness World Record.

Also in attendance were the stars of the movie Will Smith, Josh Brolin and Nicole Scherzinger along with director Barry Sonnenfeld.

From the Guinness Book Of World Records: The projector set-up for the record-breaking screening comprised of an array of four Sony 4K SRX-R320's, projecting left and right eye 3D images simultaneously onto a giant 25.9m x 14m screen.

Sony Pictures and Telefónica Germany donated the total revenue of the première to the TRIBUTE TO BAMBI trust, supporting children in need.

MIB3 is set to be released later this month, almost 15 years after the first movie in the series set a record for the highest box office film gross for an opening weekend - a record now held by The Avengers.

Looks Like A Premiere Homerun For Marvel's THE AVENGERS!

With the reaction gleaned from last night's premiere of Marvel's THE AVENGERS it looks like a sure fire hit is on it's way to us! At the very least a Robert Downey Jr. DANCE PARTY!

Clearly HULK is back too! So many tweets about him finally getting the treatment he deserves as a comic book super hero on the big screen. I couldn't be happier about that. It's about time.

It sounds as though there were minor issues with the first two acts of the movie (nothing really overbearing though) but that the final act nails it though - more than making up for any minor transgressions made earlier. Again music to my ears!

So if you weren't already hyped enough about the ensemble movie to end all ensemble movies (or should I say assemble movies!), now's the time to hop on board. Man, this is going to be a wicked summer for 3D movies!!

THE AVENGERS open May 4.

The military jumps into action and Susan is captured and secreted away to a covert government compound. There, she is renamed Ginormica and placed in confinement with a ragtag group of Monsters: the brilliant but insect-headed Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.; the macho half-ape, half-fish The Missing Link; the gelatinous and indestructible B.O.B.; and the 350-foot grub called Insectosaurus. Their confinement is cut short, however, when a mysterious alien robot lands on Earth and begins storming the country. In a moment of desperation, The President is persuaded to enlist the motley crew of Monsters to combat the Alien Robot and save the world from imminent destruction.

"Monsters vs. Aliens" is DreamWorks Animation's first InTru 3D Movie. A 2D version will also be available.

"U2 3D" Being Released In Japan

Here is some great news for our readers in Japan - National Geographic and 3ality Digital's U2 3D will be opening in March!

The very highly reviewed concert film from 2008 will open in 40 theaters. The reviews are spectacular with RottenTomatoes ranking it the 4th best movie of the year (92%!). Of course I raved about it.

U2 3D also recently won the "Best Musical Film" Award at the Los Premios MTV Latin American Video Music Awards. And justifiably so.

I have a very good friend living in the Tokyo area who I will check in with to see how the Japanese 3D theater experience feels. Enjoy Japan! ...and send me an email Peter! :-)

Jessica Alba Wears Pajamas To The Premiere Of "My Bloody Valentine 3D"?

What was she thinking? Sure she just had a baby (didn't she?), but still - this is a pretty public place wouldn't you say?

Perhaps she has invented her own form of martial arts complete with a new Gi.

I am sure she wants to get the nod from James Cameron for Battle Angel - but... don't think this route will work necessarily...

Unless she DOES have a new martial art form perfected. Hmmm.

Lots Of BUZZ At The "Fly Me To The Moon" 3D Premiere in NYC Last Night!

Hey guys - Jim here. I don't know about you, but I LOVE to see Buzz Aldrin doing anything. He could be just sitting down or crossing a street but DAMN, this guy was on the moon! Heck - put Buzz in Kelly Ripa's dress and I wouldn't bat an eye. This dude was on the moon - did I say that already?

Anyway, here are a few shots of the occasion at The Regal Union Square in New York City last night. I like what I have been hearing about this family movie! Sounds like the animation rendering is done well and movie itself entertaining. Nope, I haven't seen it yet!

FLY ME TO THE MOON opens August 15th!

Prepared to be Rocked: U23D Reviews Have Elevation

The only negative thing I have heard about u23D to date is, well - not really negative about the movie but more about the individual: Jay Z left a recent screening of U23D early - too early to see the outstanding effects later on in the concert. So doesn't really count in my book. Besides, Beyoncé may have texted him to get his ass to Saks to help her shop. Who knows.

Reports are coming in from the Sundance premiere that the movie is simply a spectacle, a must see even if you are not a U2 fan, and the 3D rocks. Apparently as the movie advances, the 3D effects keep getting better with more and more innovation.

I will be finally checking U23D out shortly courtesy of my local Empire IMAX theater chain. Can't wait!

Bono and U2 Show Up At U23D Premiere

Well I guess the auction was right on the money - Bono and U2 did show up at the premiere screening of U23D at Sundance. Bill over at Summit Pacific said the Al Gore showed up too but the response to him paled in comparison to the Irish rockers. Kinda funny - but it is their show to be fair. Wish I could have been there!

Apparently Robert Redford was at the showing as well and was suitably awed by the technology.

Maybe it was worth $600+ for a pair of scalped tickets? Hmmm. Maybe.

Waiting patiently for the 23rd!!
