EXCLUSIVE: LES MISERABLES Strongly Leaning Toward Native 3D, Announcement Coming Soon!

As if the classic story and star studded cast wasn't enough to pique your interest, now I have it on good authority that LES MISERABLES is strongly leaning toward going with native 3D. What gorgeous period sets scenery will we be exposed to in this highly anticipated production! Further, director Tom Hooper (THE KING'S SPEECH) is perfect for the project.

This information comes from a source close to the cinematography technology side of things.

Principal photography is slated to begin in 2012 with Hugh Jackman (Jean Valjean) and Russell Crowe (Inspector Javert) headlining. Others attached / circling are Anne Hathaway (Fantine), Helena Bonham Carter (Mme. Thenardier), Geoffrey Rush (Thenardier) and Emma Watson.

The movie is slated for a December 7, 2012 release.

Here's the storyline for the novel
(adapted from Amazon):
Hugo's classic tale is set against the backdrop of political upheaval in 19th-century France and retains its timeless appeal with the struggles of former convict Jean Valjean. The suspenseful central plot traces Valjean's endeavor to emerge from desperate circumstances while being pursued by the duty-obsessed Inspector Javert. The principal characters retain their epic proportions, and the major themes of redemption through good works and the importance of authentic charity are undiminished.

LES MISERABLES is high on my list of all time great classic stories. To see this unveiled in 3D with the level of talent attached will be an unforgettable experience! Can't wait.

More when I get it!
