James Franco Joins Wim Wenders' Next 3D Project: EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE

Yet another adult drama being shot in 3D! The timing for this announcement couldn't be better with the pending release of Baz Luhrmann's THE GREAT GATSBY. We're entering a new phase for 3D - one that says 'I don't care what genre you're shooting in - make it 3D'.

World renowned director Wim Wenders (PINA) has just inked James Franco to star in his next 3D project entitled EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE.

Says Wenders on the movie: "A family drama, unraveling over the course of twelve years. ...And I’m convinced that the medium (3D) lends itself really well to an intimate story."


Here's the storyline for the movie:
A writer (Franco) who accidentally causes the death of a child and the story that follows him over the next 12 years as he looks for the footprints of the accident on his life, as well as on the life of the child’s mother.

More when we get it! Assuming this project will be shot in native 3D as was Wenders' Oscar nominated PINA.

**UPDATED May 11 - Sarah Polley Joins 3D Family Drama EVERY THING WILL BE FINE

This project looks very interesting! EVERY THING WILL BE FINE is a family drama in 3D and now Sarah Polley who I've been following since her days on the Canadian TV series ROAD TO AVONLEA. She is a triple threat talent through her acting, writing (Oscar nominated) and Director (TAKE THIS WALTZ starring Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman and Michelle Williams).

Director Wim Wenders was also behind the critically acclaimed PINA, the Oscar nominated dancing documentary of last year. Producer Gian-Piero Ringel is also attached. Bjorn Olaf Johannessen penned the script.

Here's the official storyline for EVERY THING WILL BE FINE:

One day, driving aimlessly around the outskirts of town after a trivial domestic quarrel, Tomas accidentally hits and kills a child. The accident marks him for the next twelve years, as we follow the event's implosion in Tomas' everyday life. Will Tomas be able to move on? Will he ever be able to look in the mirror and see a man, not a murderer?

EVERY THING WILL BE FINE will run about 100 minutes. Look for the film to make it's premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February 2013. Thanks for the updates Gerold!
