Francis Ford Coppola Using 3D For TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE!!

I love news like this! As more Hollywood legends pick up or reaffirm their love affair with stereoscopic 3D, the more ingrained 3D is in our culture. Next up? None other than Francis Ford Coppola.

The godfather of cinema himself is continuing his use of 3D (he first used 3D in CAPTAIN EO) in his new directorial effort TWIXT NOW AND SUNRISE. The movie is in the horror genre (with similarities to Edgar Allan Poe) that has signed on Val Kilmer, Elle Fanning, Bruce Dern, Joanne Whalley, Ben Chaplin, Don Novello, David Paymer, and Alden Erenreich.

Coppola will be using 3D for a segment of the movie (ala TRON: LEGACY) and not its entirety apparently.

Coppola spoke with 99percent recently and spilled the beans. You should note that the site also makes pains to state that a full length 3D movie is a gimmick. Yes I know. They are slightly behind the times - 3D is everywhere nowadays. CES might as well be called CES3D now.

Who's left? I don't rank Nolan up there with Spielberg, Lucas, Coppola, Scorsese, Herzog and Cameron yet, but there are very few legends left who are not lensing in S3D. List them if you can think of any...
