While it's true James Cameron is sadly not directing ALITA: BATTLE ANGEL due to the AVATAR sequel commitments, he DID write the screenplay along with Laeta Kalogridis and Robert Rodriguez, the latter of which is also directing. Of course the whole thing is based on the graphic novel manga series GUNNM by Yukito Kishiro.
And this project has been percolating in Cameron's head for some time now as he did intend to direct this at one point. Only good things come from that. Hopefully, much of what he had dreamed up for the movie has been adopted by Rodriguez. They have got an interesting take in the trailer, because you want to create lifelike beings, but at the same time reflect their artificial nature. I think they've succeeded. So far. Got. To. See. More.
The cast includes: Rosa Salazar, Christoph Waltz, Jennifer Connelly, Mahershala Ali, Ed Skrein, Jackie Earle Haley and Keean Johnson. I think Salazar looks great in this - so far so good with casting, though it's a very small sample size.
Check out the first trailer for Fox's 3D animation EPIC! To me the first 30 secs or so really reminds me of THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES - and I guess some FERN GULLY thrown in. Not a bad combination but not entirely original to me. Still the imagery looks impressive and Fox has come a long way with their animations
Here's the storyline for the movie: EPIC is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of ICE AGE and RIO, EPIC tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it. When a teen age girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she must band together with a rag-tag team of fun and whimsical characters in order to save their world... and ours.
Hey guys - we have two new posters from THE THREE MUSKETEERS for you.
Click the image to expand. One is for France (can you tell which one?) and the other is North American. Obviously the story is very dear to the hearts of the French and is an important country for its box office.
I don't know about you but I am quite looking forward to seeing Orlando Bloom playing a darker role! And of course anything with Christoph Waltz is going to look great - he definitely classed up THE GREEN HORNET and INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS goes without saying.
Here's the storyline: The hot-headed young D'Artagnan along with three former legendary but now down on their luck Musketeers must unite and defeat a beautiful double agent and her villainous employer from seizing the French throne and engulfing Europe in war.

I am loving this! Two awesome trailers in the last two days! THE THREE MUSKETEERS looks amazing and just what I am looking for in a remake. Did I care whether I saw another swing at THE THREE MUSKETEERS say 12 months ago? Nope. I did not. But now, seeing a glimpse of the performances and the special effects in this teaser I am very impressed indeed.
Can this bring in the audience? I hope so. I hope that folks aren't completely drained of all interest for the story after countless remakes, because this time around it looks very entertaining. I can see why director Paul W.S. Anderson said that it would be a modern take on the story as the special effects are amazing. Wasn't sure what he meant back when he said it - but it makes sense now. A pure popcorn entertainment movie. It's what we go the the theater for! It's meant for the big screen.

THE THREE MUSKETEERS was shot totally in native 3D. Should be a ton-o-fun. Can't wait!
Check out the new international posters for Seth Rogen's THE GREEN HORNET - not bad! I am beginning to come around a bit to the movie after all. I like the comic color and lighting in these shots - especially the green jacket Rogen is wearing and Christoph Waltz's leather.
You can see that the first four posters all join togetherand don't really stop! You can just keep adding them one after the other :-)
Could it be that I will be blown away by THE GREEN HORNET? I am opening my mind to it. I don't want any expectations though, that way the possibilities will be greater for my enjoyment :-)
Here is the movie's storyline: Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of LA’s most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene – until his father (Tom Wilkinson) mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father’s more industrious and inventive employees, Kato (Jay Chou), they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. But in order to do this, they decide to become criminals themselves – protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante The Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets. The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, and with the help of Britt’s new secretary, Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz), they begin hunting down the man who controls LA’s gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.
Cast: Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Christoph Waltz, Cameron Diaz Director: Michel Gondry
THE GREEN HORNET opens in 3D theaters in North America January 14, 2011.
What do you think? Is THE GREEN HORNET on your must see list in 2011?
One of the characters I have been most anxious to see in Paul W.S. Anderson's THE THREE MUSKETEERS is Mads Mikkelsen's character Rochefort, mainly because I think he is a great actor and perfectly cast for the movie. If you will remember, he played Le Chiffre in CASINO ROYALE.

Before you ask:Sure, I could probably do without another MUSKETEERS remake - but to me we have not seen what the definitive effort is yet. So bring it on Anderson!
Look at the wardrobe for this movie! Great work. If these pictures are any indication for the rest of the movie, I can see many awards coming in their direction for costumes.
We also see Logan Lerman as D'Artagnan.
Look for the amazing cast of Ray Stevenson, Christoph Waltz, Orlando Bloom, Milla Jovovich, Luke Evans, Matthew Macfadyen, Juno Temple and James Corden to join Lerman and Mikkelsen in THE THREE MUSKETEERS on April 15, 2011. In 3D.
It's here! Check out the new trailer for THE GREEN HORNET!!
I imagined something very similar to what is actually presented to us. Comedic relief by Seth Rogen, Jay Chou is the straight faced partner. I am REALLY interested to see how Christoph Waltz pulls off villainy yet again.
The Black Beauty looks awesome. What don't I like about the trailer? Absolutely nothing. They nailed it. Loved the close too with the rocket! What do you think?
Remember that story about THE THREE MUSKETEERS coming to 3D screens with a more contemporary feel? Well I have new developments to share with you on the project...
Director Paul W.S. Anderson has been busy casting! Logan Lerman is in deep talks to play D'Artagnan, a young man who joins the King's guard after leaving his home.
Already cast are: Ray Stevenson (THE BOOK OF ELI), Luke Evans (CLASH OF THE TITANS) and Matthew Macfadyen (ROBIN HOOD) playing Porthos, Athos and Aramis respectively. Christoph Waltz (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS) will play villain Cardinal Richelieu and Mads Mikkelsen (CASINO ROYALE) is set for Rochefort. Anderson's wife, Milla Jovovich is cast as Milady de Winter who is a former love of Athos and is described as being a 17th century Bond girl.
Apparently an offer is out to Orlando Bloom to play the Duke of Buckingham.
Anderson and Andrew Davies wrote the script. Summit is the distributor.
THE THREE MUSKETEERS is looking to begin lensing in September of this year. Not sure what to make of the project yet with that 'contemporary feel' label on it, but it must be good or they would not be able to negotiate such talent. The budget must be sky high for this with Bloom and company under consideration. More when I get it!
