Sorry guys! Ilion Animation wants me to take off the video clip that I posted this week for the 3D movie "Planet 51" and I am complying tonight at 10PM Eastern.
I said that I wanted to give my readers fair warning about the removal. The clip originated off of Spanish television and wasn't intended for North American viewers apparently according to their representative.

This is an awesome FIRST LOOK at "Planet 51" from Ilion Animation of Spain! It is a stereoscopic 3D animation pegged for a July 24th, 2009 wide release - Yep - 2009. Thats gonna be one hell of a 3D year guys! Its great to get a look at it so much in advance...
If you will remember - Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), Jessica Biel, Seann William Scott and Justin Long have all been attached to this movie to lend their voices. Its all about a reversal of sorts - the aliens on Planet 51 are frightfully worried about an invasion of their planet and the humans that land there encounter this 1950's style civilization for some great laughs.
I am really looking forward to this animation. Their first images looked amazing. It has a storyline that I find very intriguing and know I see that the quality of their work looks OUTSTANDING. My encoding may not be though lol. I am looking for a better file of it.

Variety reports that Jessica Biel is teaming with Dwayne Johnson, Seann William Scott and Justin Long to voice New Line's first animated feature film "Planet 51". The movie is also being produced in stereoscopic 3D. July 24th, 2009 has been pegged as the release date with its actual production completed in March 2009.
The premise is that Johnson (astronaut Chuck Baker) lands on Planet 51 thinking it was barren but discovers that it is really inhabited with a 1950's type of civilization that is frightfully concerned about being invaded by aliens! Of course hilarity ensues.
The writer of "Planet 51", Joe Stillman has boatloads of obvious talent as he wrote Shrek and Shrek 2. The movie is being made by Ilion Animation out of Spain.
Looks out of this world!

Ok so the post title dates me back to watching Emergency! but what the hell. Squad 51. Start an IV with Ringer's Lactate. KMG-365... Written by Joe Stillman ("Shrek"), the story is set on a planet whose inhabitants live in fear of an alien invasion. Their paranoia is realized when astronaut Capt. Charles "Chuck" Baker arrives from Earth. Befriended by a young resident, the astronaut has to avoid capture in order to recover his spaceship and return home.
New Line is getting into the 3D world and none too soon! Hollywood Reporter well... reports, that New Line has bought the Ilion Animation Studios', well... animation Planet 51, for $60 million from Handmade Films International.
Completion is due in March of 2009 for a subsequent release later that year, co-branded with a video game from Pyro Studios.
With "The Hobbit" anticipation boiling up into a frenzy (along with some taters, mmm), perhaps this is the led up to the big announcement from Bob Shaye that they are indeed placing Peter Jackson back on the helm for the flick and pulling the trigger on back to back 3D epics! Make The Hobbit in 3D Bob... Just think of having to duck with all those box office returns coming at 'ya!
