MUST WATCH: Awesome Interview With Sam Worthington And Liam Neeson For WRATH OF THE TITANS

I think this interview is exceptionally done (kudos Steve of Collider) and merits a post for MarketSaw readers to check out.

Listen to how passionate Sam Worthington is to correct the wrongs of the first movie and bring in some solid character performance for Perseus in WRATH OF THE TITANS.

As I haven't seen it yet, here is what the Collider film reviewer (Steve) had to say about the movie:
"It’s got a solid story, incredible effects, and the 3D is really well done. I’ve seen it twice (including IMAX 3D) and it’s definitely recommended."

Here's the storyline:
A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus (Worthington) –the demigod son of Zeus (Neeson)–is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius. Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity’s lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades (Fiennes) and Poseidon (Danny Huston). The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld. Welcome to the final stage of the marketing campaign for Warner Bros' WRATH OF THE TITANS! We are moving up a rung from movie posters, stills and trailers to movie clips. In this clip we see Liam Neeson's character Zeus asking Ralph Fiennes' Hades to team up with him to defeat the titans.

Behind The Scenes BATTLESHIP Clip With Rihanna

As far as behind the scenes clips go, this one is not all that exciting simply because it is full of Entertainment Tonight tinsel rather than content unfortunately. Certainly gets the word out, but it could have much more appealing.

Rihanna does her thing firing off her modern gatling gun, but I'm not sold on her yet either. She'll bring in a younger audience, but for me the one saving grace of this project to date is Liam Neeson. I am a fan of Taylor Kitsch (so far), but I reserve my "I can carry a movie" judgement until I see JOHN CARTER.

Ok, maybe I am a bit too skeptical but they need to push some other buttons for me. Bring in some special effects guys - or the alien design team. Discuss what they did that was different of course discuss 3D. Let's go!

First Look At Rihanna In BATTLESHIP

We knew Rihanna was in it but how well would she perform in Peter Berg's BATTLESHIP? Well she looks pretty good actually as a weapons specialist for what seems to be a heavy caliber gatling gun! Kinda reminds me of "Ol' Painless" that Jesse Ventura carried around in PREDATOR.

Still, such a weapon would do little against the alien ships we saw in the trailer, so are we to assume that the alien creatures themselves get up close and personal? One would think, wouldn't one.

Actually her hair looks a little damp in the pic - perhaps she needs an umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh?

Here's the storyline:
Peter Berg (Hancock) produces and directs Battleship, an epic action-adventure that unfolds across the seas, in the skies and over land as our planet fights for survival against a superior force. Based on Hasbro’s classic naval combat game, Battleship stars Taylor Kitsch as Lt. Alex Hopper, a Naval officer assigned to the USS John Paul Jones; Brooklyn Decker as Sam Shane, a physical therapist and Hopper’s fiance; Alexander Skarsgard as Hopper’s older brother, Stone, Commanding Officer of the USS Sampson; Rihanna as Petty Officer Raikes, Hopper’s crewmate and a weapons specialist on the USS John Paul Jones; and international superstar Liam Neeson as Hopper and Stone’s superior (and Sam’s father), Admiral Shane.

Production Starts On CLASH OF THE TITANS 2!

Here we go! This time around, lessons have been learned. Warner Bros. have just started shooting CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 with returning stars Sam Worthington, Ralph Fiennes, Liam Neeson and Danny Huston. Additionally, the sequel will bring on Toby Kebbell, Bill Nighy, Rosemund Pike and Edgar Ramirez.

Where is Gemma Arterton you say? Good question. She is not in the release from Warner's as a cast member.

The movie will be a 3D conversion again, but this time all eyes are on the ball. No excuses. If they get it right we should be in for a treat!

Jonathan Liebesman directs the film from a screenplay by Dan Mazeau & David Leslie Johnson and Steven Knight, story Greg Berlanti & David Leslie Johnson & Dan Mazeau, based on the 2010 hit “Clash of the Titans” and the 1981 film of the same name, written by the late Beverley Cross.

The film is produced by Basil Iwanyk (“The Town”), who also produced the previous “Clash of the Titans,” and Polly Cohen Johnsen (“Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore”). The executive producers are Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, William Fay, Callum McDougall, Kevin De La Noy and Louis Leterrier.

“Clash of the Titans 2″ will be filming in studios outside London and will later shoot on location in Surrey, South Wales and in the Spanish Canary Islands on the island of Tenerife. The film is currently scheduled for release in March 2012.

Judging by the caliber of the professionals involved, CLASH OF THE TITANS 2 looks like it will be a massive tentpole release for Warners. More when I get it.

Sequel To CLASH entitled: WRATH OF THE TITANS! Neeson Says It Will Start Shooting In March And It Will Kick @ss!!

One of my favorite actors is Liam Neeson. Of course he is headlining (as Zeus) the sequel to CLASH OF THE TITANS which we now know is called WRATH OF THE TITANS.

Neeson said (via Belfast Telegraph): "I've only read half of the script and there is still some work being done - they're on script 10 - but I think it's going to be some kick-a** stuff and a very human story to it. We will start next March. I'm very much looking forward to it. It's a whole revamping, you know."

Neeson doesn't know if WRATH will be shot in native 3D or not. I would wager not as I believe there is an existing agreement in place between the studio and the conversion company for multiple 2D to 3D projects. HOWEVER, that being said I would quickly follow that by saying LESSONS HAVE BEEN LEARNED. In other words, no ridiculous timelines for completion.
