Yes, this is very much not safe for work. The latest bit of marketing for PIRANHA 3DD hits the spinning Internet via FunnyorDie and actually is quite funny! I mean with The Hoff and Gary Busey and all, how can you go wrong? 

The movie is blatant sexism though, so if you watch it, be prepared. It's audience knows who they are and they are marketing DIRECTLY at them with this featurette.

Who here is a fan of the total package that is Gary Busey? He can consistently deliver laughs time and time again effortlessly and with abandon. It doesn't even seem like he's trying to be funny. New Poster For PIRANHA 3DD: No Body Is Safe

It's the obvious pun isn't it? No BODY is safe. There is no wool pulled over anyone's eyes with this exploitation film but it does have to measure up to the original's pure fun accomplished by director Alexandre Aja.

So will it? Good question. I like the tongue in cheek of having David Hasselhoff playing a fake life guard and of course Ving Rhames always brings it. Hopefully it turns out to be a great summer popcorn movie.

Must Watch: PIRANHA 3DD Full Trailer

Well here it is! The first full trailer for PIRANHA 3DD and it seems to be more of the same that the first delivered, which isn't a bad thing according to the box office ($83m).

I actually am surprised that I like David Hasselhoff's role in this! It certainly sets the tone for it. Gives it some much needed reality to try and make this thing viable in our minds. Yes, he is NOT a lifeguard. Perfect!

Now if we could get a release date...

PIRANHA 3DD kicks off international marketing with two posters more or less highlighting the two most important aspects of the movie's franchise: Piranhas and bikini clad women. Sure it's a cop out, but let's face it: It works.

You all know what you will be getting when you go see this movie. If you are expecting a decent story or outstanding acting you should probably look elsewhere, though I will say I thoroughly enjoyed Richard Dreyfus and Elisabeth Shue's performances in the first iteration.

My biggest fear with this movie? It isn't the creatures. It's the 3D conversion. Do it right this time PLEASE!

Just as I suspected - more exploitation, but in a meaningful way! Meaningful if you enjoyed the first one that is. Note that Alexandre Aja is not attached to this film, and neither are Ving Rhames legs. Those are weapons baby.

Uh-oh. Perhaps MarketSaw's poll results thus far pushed Dimension Films to delay PIRANHA 3DD (as of today reflecting the interest of only 7% of MarketSaw 3D readers).

Or perhaps they didn't like the lineup of movies they would be competing with in the original window.

Or perhaps the movie needs more work.

Either way, PIRANHA 3DD won't throw photons at your local cinema screen until sometime in 2012. More info when we get it...

I liked the premise for first 3D feature PIRANHA 3D, but I am not sure where they are going with this iteration, a terrorist plot perhaps? How does twice as many piranha get into a water park this time around? Are these still those same prehistoric creatures from the first? Lots of questions...

Both PIRANHA 3DD And THE AVENGERS Start Shooting Today!

Which will be the bigger hit? :-) Gee, I wonder. Both PIRANHA 3DD and THE AVENGERS start shooting today!

Here's what AVENGERS director Joss Whedon told Whedonesque:
Tomorrow we start shooting (I THINK I'm legally permitted to say that). Day one. That's right. We'll be shooting the pivotal death/betrayal/product placement/setting up the sequel/coming out scene, at the following address: [Marvel Lawyers rush in, take Joss's keyboard, blowtorch a picture of his family like in "Stormy Monday", drink his milkshake, leave the seat up, fluff his pillows, violently unfluff his pillows, leave] Went too far. My bad. Anyhoo, it should be a fun day, followed by the eighty thousand other fun days it will take to finish this. I'll be checking in from time to time, if there's news or I crave attention (i.e. am awake) . None of it will be Avengers news -- I have some very denty pillows to remind of that -- but I may have tidbits. (They're not about Firefly. I should say that up front, if only to protect Sis Mo from the HATORZ.) Some of you may be saying, Joss! Why this link, here, now, why, huh, howcum? Regarding John Gulager's PIRANHA 3DD, not a lot is known about it other than casting. Matt Bush, Danielle Panabaker, Chris Zylka, Meagan Tandy, Jean-Luc Bilodeau and David Koechner to name a few. I see no big names though - nothing of the calibre of Richard Dreyfus. Certainly HE won't be back... :-)
