New Spy Shots From THOR: THE DARK WORLD!

We have some pretty cool new spy shots from the outdoor set of THOR: THE DARK WORLD which is shooting in Bourne Wood, England. This fictional village has four pillars surrounding a group of yurts (huge portable tents).

THOR: THE DARK WORLD will be shooting on location here until sometime in September.

Here's how Marvel's Kevin Feige described the movie's storyline:
"We’re going to take Thor literally to other worlds -It will primarily be the journey of that character, of he and Jane Foster and how the new dynamic with his father is working out, as well as what are the broader stakes for The Nine Worlds."

THOR: THE DARK WORLD stars Chris Hemsworth, Christopher Eccleston, Idris Elba, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jaimie Alexander, Kat Dennings, Mads Mikkelsen, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgard, Tom Hiddleston and Zachary Levi.

The movie is slated for release on November 8, 2013.

Must See: Amazing Aerial Images From The IRON MAN 3 Set!!

I have to admit my jaw dropped on these shots from the set of IRON MAN 3. It looks like some kind of intricate combination practical / visual effects shot that Shane Black has had up his sleeve. Perhaps a slo-mo shot? Would they dare drop all those stunt people at the same time in that close of a proximity to each other?

It looks to me as though Tony Stark is in mid-transition to becoming Iron Man in what seems to be an entirely new suit. What kind of suit? Does Extremis have something to do with this? Good question.

The stuntwork sounds amazing on this production and reminds me of the work done on MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL.

Note that the cameras they are using do not seem to be in stereoscopic configuration and so it's fairly clear IRON MAN 3 will be post converted to 3D just like CAP, THOR and THE AVENGERS.

Here's some official info about the movie:
Following in the footsteps of the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ release “Marvel’s The Avengers,” production on the highly anticipated film “Iron Man 3,” directed by Shane Black, has production locations in North Carolina, Raleigh/Durham, Miami, Florida and China.

Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, “Iron Man 3” returns Robert Downey Jr. (“Iron Man,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”) as the iconic Super Hero character Tony Stark/Iron Man along with Gwyneth Paltrow (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2,”) as Pepper Potts, Don Cheadle (“Iron Man 2”) as James “Rhodey” Rhodes and Jon Favreau (“Iron Man,” “Iron Man 2”) as Happy Hogan. Set for release in the U.S. on May 3, 2013, Marvel’s “Iron Man 3” marks the second feature to be fully owned, marketed and distributed by Disney, which acquired Marvel in 2009.

“Iron Man 3” continues the epic, big-screen adventures of the world’s favorite billionaire inventor/Super Hero, Tony Stark aka “Iron Man.” Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Jon Favreau, Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Charles Newirth, Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard and Dan Mintz.

The creative production team on the film includes two-time Oscar®-winning director of photography John Toll, ASC (“Braveheart,” “Legends of the Fall”), production designer Bill Brzeski (“The Hangover,” “Due Date”), editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. (“Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Captain America: The First Avenger”) and Peter S. Elliot (“Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer”), and costume designer Louise Frogley (“Quantum of Solace,” “Contagion”).

Oh and you have GOT to watch Robert Downey Jr.'s entrance to Comic-Con this year! Hilarious!! Check it out:

IRON MAN 3 opens on May 3, 2013.

Must See: 18 New Images For Ridley Scott's PROMETHEUS

I love behind the scenes shots and this new batch of images has some cool ones. Especially like seeing the RED Epic cameras mounted on the 3ality Technica rigs!! Looks gorgeous.

By the way I just finished watching the Alien Quadrilogy and it is an impressive collection of not only theatrical and director's cuts of the movies but also behind the scenes media and interviews. Loved the segment on the ALIEN collector too - what an amazing collection of memorabilia he has amassed! Definitely a recommended buy and a perfect warmup for my most anticipated movie of 2012 - PROMETHEUS.

Here's the storyline for PROMETHEUS:
Ridley Scott, director of “Alien” and “Blade Runner,” returns to the genre he helped define. With PROMETHEUS, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

PROMETHEUS hits our movement proximity scanners on June 8!

MUST SEE: Set Photos From STAR TREK 2! Quinto And Saldana Vs. Cumberbatch!!

FINALLY we see something cool from the set of JJ Abrams STAR TREK 2! A couple of interesting photos to say the least. First up we have Spock (Zachary Quinto) applying his Vulcan nerve pinch to Benedict Cumberbatch's villain role (of which we still don't know his official name). However it seems Cumberbatch is somehow able to avoid the grip somehow as he seems quite conscious and looking to counter!

MTV reports (don't laugh, but they called this maneuver the Vulcan Death Grip which obviously has never existed) that the two are fighting aboard a "space barge set". Let's hope it's not a garbage scow for the sake of James Doohan's character!

Speculation that Cumberbatch was actually part of Starfleet before his turn to villainy? Many think his shirt hints at that.

Further we have Uhura (Zoe Saldana) drawing iron against Cumberbatch in the second photo. MTV says she does so to save Spock's life. The standard large green screen looms behind. Seems this villain is a busy dude. I just hope I don't keep seeing Sherlock Holmes every time he's on the screen (he nails that role if you haven't seen the BBC series yet).

So all in all some very exciting photos to be digested here! What do you make of the scenes? STAR TREK 2 is being converted to 3D and is slated for a May 17, 2013 opening.

New SPIDER-MAN Set Photos: Webslinging Action!!

The first thought through my mind was: "Why don't they sign this Spider-man stunt guy to do the stage show"! These shots look a heckuva lot of fun. I often wondered where the live action ended and the CG webslinging started in past movies. These photos help get my mind around it.

The first two on set shots for Marc Webb's SPIDER-MAN reboot are from OnLocationVacations (which is a pretty cool site btw). The final two shots are from MarieClaire. There are more shots to see on those links too!

Enjoy!

SPIDER-MAN will swing into theaters July 3, 2012.
