TERMINATOR's Sarah Connor Returns!

This production looks like it's firing on all cylinders! Not only is James Cameron directly involved (T2 was his last), but now Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (Terminator) are joining along with some new cast.

Says Cameron: "As meaningful as (Sarah Connor) was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return. There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys but there isn’t an example of that for women.

We’re starting a search for an 18-something woman to be the new centerpiece of the new story. We still fold time. We will have characters from the future and the present. There will be mostly new characters, but we'll have Arnold and Linda’s characters to anchor it."

Tim Miller (DEADPOOL) is directing. Cameron is writing (along with a writing room that included David Goyer (BATMAN BEGINS, THE DARK KNIGHT) and Justin Rhodes, Charles Eglee (DARK ANGEL) and also producing.

With this latest news, I think the pedigree being presented for this production is perfect. It'll be interesting to see if Cameron and Miller shoot this in native 3D. I'll wager they will. Can't wait for this! I wonder if Michael Biehn is in line to join... :-)

Sigourney Weaver: James Cameron Will Shoot AVATAR 2, 3 And 4 Concurrently

We have all heard that James Cameron will be shooting AVATAR 2 & 3 back to back and that the man himself hinted at a fourth movie to be thrown in the mix - well now it seems that the hint was true as it has been confirmed by someone who should know: Sigourney Weaver.

Weaver was asked about her upcoming slate of projects (unfortunately precious little direct quotes):
She goes right into a new Christopher Durang play for a short run at Lincoln Center. Then she films Avatar 2, 3, and 4 with James Cameron. That’s right: they’re making three sequels to the blue 3D phenom all at the same time. Weaver says she has no idea how long it will take, or how it’s going to work. “I just show up,” she said.

There you have it. When James Cameron said he was in the AVATAR business, he meant it.

Think about what this means. The director of the top two movies of all time is now preparing to unleash not one but three sequels to his number one hit. Don't forget this guy's track record with sequels. So imagine just how crazy this is going to get! Finally we have a series of films from him that will rival STAR WARS.

Interesting to hear that Sigourney will be in ALL the AVATAR movies. That in itself is a bit of a spoiler...

I'll have more soon as pre-production ramps up on the movies. Up until now, there simply has been nothing to report as he had the smallish task of diving solo to the bottom of the world for the first time ever. Stay tuned! It's about to get really hot around here...

Well Of Course... Sequel To THE AVENGERS Is Officially In Development

Yeah, ok. We knew this was going to happen, not only by the contracts all the principals have signed for multi-pictures but by simple arithmetic. A $700 million worldwide take with weeks remaining to scoop up more will do that.

Bob Iger, CEO of Disney officially announced their intentions during a conference call today. Full steam ahead.

I'll have more on the performance of THE AVENGERS soon! What an exciting time for 3D. Simply marvel-ous!!

Check Out The Research The Crew And Filmmakers Endured For Pixar's BRAVE!

Yes, we could all use a job like this could we not? Check out the arduous process that the crew and filmmakers endured in the research for Pixar's production of BRAVE.

Not that these guys don't work hard - they do - but clearly there are some perks that go along with working for a great company like Pixar. Would you not agree?

Plus the fact that if you work for Pixar, you are there because it doesn't FEEL like work - it's fun. I have the same feeling with MarketSaw.

Having tentpole budgeting for 'Total Immersion' helps of course and this is actually money very well spent because Pixar gets it right. Details that astound. Remember RATATOUILLE's Paris location? Spot on and gorgeous. Great work guys!

BRAVE opens June 22.
