EXCLUSIVE: Update On Ridley Scott's Ultra Secretive PROMETHEUS!!

Hey guys! Got an exclusive update from one of my inside sources and in this case it is in turn from a source of his own, so take all of this with a grain of salt. But know this, my source here is one of my top taps of information so I am always excited to hear from him! Man I hope this is all true...

This is directly taken (mid email) from my source (emphasis is mine):

Be aware, there is a campaign of disinformation that is going to be used about this upcoming movie, I do not know that if inadvertently I am being used, however, the manner in which the conversation came about, I seriously doubt it.

Ridley Scott's sci-fi movie, currently going by the name Prometheus, is going to be a very large and intense story, with a scope that is epic, the final act is where the movie switches gears and shifts into Aliens territory. Pinewood houses an exact replica of the H R Giger Space Jockey command post. You may notice in the original Alien that the Space Jockey had a puncture on its considerably large chest, where the xenomorph broke out through the flesh of the creature and broke through the biomechanical armor it wears. You may also notice how big the Space Jockey is in relation to its human counter parts in the film. So imagine how big the baby must be, which is yet to grow. Then imagine quite a few of these. If you can do that, you got a pretty good grasp on the final act. And do not be expecting the traditional look either, these are very different creatures that will keep the general architecture of the xenomorph, but will have a considerably different look, and do very perverse things.

However, before all of this I hear that the story is not only reminiscent of 2001, but is also trying to push the boundaries of what a modern tent pole science fiction movie could be. This is all I can share, but trust me, you seriously need to start being excited about this project, because not only is this I am assured, not nostalgia for nostalgia reasons, but a whole new spin on that old chestnut.(Editor's note: I am definitely excited about this project! As many of you can attest I'm sure :-)

The story is a very closely guarded secret in Hollywood, and while it is not a direct prequel "officially" it has more than just passing ties towards the Alien saga's canon. You will have all the things that worked in the Alien canon, and very new and fresh and some controversial ideas presented, sexuality is dealt with quite directly. There may even be a robot or two. And the ship, which I am told is the current titles name, Prometheus. Highly original, both in concept and design I hear.

Man I can't wait to hear and see more about this project! We all know what Ridley Scott is capable of, and this is his beloved ALIEN universe!! It is beginning to sound like we are about to get everything we have ever wanted in a prequel.

So what do you think of the inside info? Do you think it's true or "true rumor"? :-) Most of it holds water with me so time will tell. I assume that the prequels revisit the ALIEN star system Zeta 2 Reticuli.

Personally I think we may be shocked at what is in this movie. Seriously shocked. I think there may be elements of sexuality never before explored in a major tentpole sci-fi before. My opinion of course, but look out. I am sooooo hoping for a 'hard R'.

Alien Prequel Pre Pro Spawns Entire New Universe! Ridley Scott To Proceed With PROMETHEUS!!!

Ok there's a lot of alliteration in that title, but why not have a little fun with this? After all, Ridley Scott and Damon Lindelof have just created an entirely new mythology and universe to play in for us!

PROMETHEUS is the title of the new science fiction thriller Scott has up his sleeve and it all evolved from his working with Lindelof to flesh out the ALIEN PREQUEL.

Apparently there are some elements inherited from ALIEN but we can expect to be immersed into a brand new place. Exciting or what?

Fox has announced that Noomi Rapace (THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) will star as "Elizabeth Shaw" and Angelina Jolie and Charlize Theron are interested in yet another major female role ("Vickers")!

Says Scott: "While Alien was indeed the jumping off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place. The keen fan will recognize strands of Alien’s DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn’t be more pleased to have found the singular tale I’d been searching for, and finally return to this genre that’s so close to my heart."

Added Lindelof: "In a world flooded with prequels, sequels and reboots, I was incredibly struck by just how original Ridley’s vision was for this movie. It’s daring, visceral and hopefully, the last thing anyone expects."

If it was even possible, I am even more amped about this new direction! I am dying to see what sort of universe Scott could take us to - his last Sci-Fi was BLADE RUNNER. All those ideas in his head for so long, mixed with the creativeness of Lindelof... well let's just say anticipation is high.

Movie is set for release on March 9, 2012.

Holy Facehugger!! H.R. Giger And Ridley Scott Together Again For ALIEN PREQUELS??

I don't know if things could get much better than this, but the rumor of the day is that H.R. Giger (yes, the guy who designed the first ALIEN xenomorph) is attached to help Ridley Scott yet again with the creation of creatures for his two ALIEN prequels!

Apparently the wife of Giger spilled the beans. No need to go into details about those creatures! They are forever part of Hollywood's legacy of scaring the heck out of people.

My opinion is Giger will assist in the design and creation of the 'space jockey' lifeforms which are supposed to be superior to even the 'alien' creatures. For more info on what the story may be about (read SPOILERS), click here.

More EPIC News! Red Epic Cameras To Be Used For Ridley Scott's ALIEN Prequels!

Wow. The RED EPIC digital camera has come a long way in the past couple of months! How is this for a lineup of blockbuster movies that will be utilizing the camera:

- THE HOBBIT - Peter Jackson
- SPIDER-MAN - Marc Webb

And now...
- ALIEN PREQUELS - Ridley Scott!

According to Jim Jannard, founder of RED, this is what cinematographer Dariusz Wolski (ON STRANGER TIDES, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, EAGLE EYE, CRIMSON TIDE) said recently: "In my opinion, the new Red Epic camera is about to revolutionize all spectrums of the film industry. I am going to use Epics in my new project directed by Ridley Scott. I am amazed with the quality of the image and the fact that you can shoot 5k at 120fps without compromising resolution, and most of all the size of the camera. Combined with the Element Technica Atom 3d rig, we will be able to shoot a 3d movie with the flexibility of a conventional cinema camera. I don't see anything that comes close to it at the moment. I can't even imagine the potential Epic will have on the big blockbuster industry as well as independent cinema."

That, my friends, is a resounding endorsement! We are seeing another mini revolution taking place here within the 3D industry - RED EPICS!! More when I get it... Thanks Mark!

Whoa! Details Surface About Ridley Scott's ALIEN Prequels: SPOILERS!!

I just couldn't help myself, I had to read it. I may regret it as how many times in life do you get to watch a probable Ridley Scott Sci-Fi masterpiece with no prior knowledge these days?

But you DO have a choice to not read it if you so desire. Below the spoiler alert warning below lies some key aspects of the ALIEN prequels' script that is certainly very interesting and I feel would make a pair of memorable movies.

Should you read it? Your call. It may even be fake, but if it is then the 'fake writers' should probably be writing.

The story follows a group of terraforming aliens the script calls ‘Growers’ — these are seemingly of the race from which comes the original film’s ‘space jockey.’ There’s a strange sequence in which the Growers use a bit of mind control to instigate a homosexual encounter between Fin and Karik, two male human slave farmers. The aliens, you see, are a single-sex species and don’t understand the male-female breeding requirements of humans. The title alien — the xenomorph — is a creature used by Growers as part of the terraforming process, and at a point in the script it develops into the creature we know and love. So we won’t see it in the form we know right off; this will be a payoff later in the script. Into the group of Growers and human slaves comes a ship crewed by “the usual Alien misfits” complete with a female character that sounds like Vasquez from Aliens, and another woman named Truks that is reportedly the role for which Gemma Arterton was considered. Ridley Scott has also reportedly met with Lance Henricksen, though how the guy who fit into the established Alien storyline might work in this film, I can only conjecture. (I’d guess he’d appear only towards the end, as the xenomorphs are out of control, in a story thread that would point right towards the original Alien.) The summation is that this script is “a deep movie — part science-fiction, part psychological drama, part, dare I say, romance.”

Now that you may have read it, what do you think? It would make a heckuva pair of movies, no doubt in my mind and in 3D? Interesting! Can't wait - IF this is all factual. Even if it is accurate, scripts are changed all the time. Keep that in mind.
