Reynolds NAILS it for this NSFW (swearing) trailer for a trailer! I've never seen one this good before probably because there hasn't been a character like Deadpool in his own movie before.
I have no assurances yet that DEADPOOL will be in 3D so keep that in mind. Fox - do the right thing.
DEADPOOL stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano and Brianna Hildebrand.
Here's the storyline for the movie: Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
This movie is going to surprise a lot of people. Can't wait!
DEADPOOL slices and dices into action February 12, 2016.
As can be expected, Ryan Reynolds absolutely NAILS the first image from DEADPOOL revealing his character's costume (Reynolds tweeted it today). It's very similar if not exact to the costume used in his test footage short.
This is the one comic book hero movie I've been waiting for. Fans have been waiting a long time and have even been insulted somewhat (Deadpool was unfortunately mistreated in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE) but I think Fox is now firing on all cylinders. The image looks PERFECT.

DEADPOOL ignites the fires on February 12, 2016. More news when we get it! And it goes without saying - This had better be a 3D release!
I am a huge Deadpool fan and I've been waiting a long time for this news. Finally we have definitive action on the movie. Hopefully Fox will see the way clear to allow the "merc with a mouth" free reign in doing so - an "R" rating.
They some atonement to make because of how they neutered him in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. Reynolds still managed an awesome scene though as he egresses an elevator and proceeds to wipe the floor with everyone. Deadpool CAN bring a blade to a gunfight and win.
Ryan Reynolds will mask up in his hometown of Vancouver (North Shore Studios) for the production. Suitable as even Wade Wilson (Deadpool's real identity) claims he is Canadian (Marvel NOW Deadpool #3).
DEADPOOL has a planned February 12, 2016 release. More news when we get it! And it goes without saying - This had better be a 3D release!
As you probably know, it's official. DEADPOOL will be upon us on February 12, 2016. The question now is will it be authentic or a studio ravaged shell of what could have been?
I'm hearing rumors from a few sources that Fox is indeed leaning toward a PG-13 rating which is NOT in the best interest of the character and therefore the story. Vicious language is the single most in-your-face trait of the "Merc with a mouth", without which I'm about as excited to see it as I am a Wolverine movie without his claws. Fox needs to pay attention to this. I don't care what sort of gimmick you have up your sleeve to try and get away with it, I want AN AUTHENTIC CHARACTER. They're already screwed up his first screen appearance. I fully expect more.
The one saving grace? Kevin Feige is producing. He is Mr. Marvel and if anyone can enforce a proper character and build a suitable franchise it's him. But again, I don't want a compromise! I want DEADPOOL.
I've even heard someone say that if I liked the leaked test footage (see video below), then you will like a PG-13 full movie. Perhaps. But I want to LOVE the full movie and I won't with the un-fermented "likeable" version.
The more intrusive studio heads sticking their opinions into a beloved and quite likely bankable super hero, the more likely this will turn out to bomb.
Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool is perfect casting. I think they will get that right. But my opinion is DEADPOOL needs to be rated R for language and violence. If it isn't, look out for another box office albatross for Reynolds. RIPD and GREEN LANTERN are not a good indicator of his talent.
And for Pete's sake, shoot this thing in native 3D! DEADPOOL is slated for a Feb 12, 2016 release.
Oh man, I hope these rumors are true - at least for DEADPOOL. I am a HUGE fan of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. As far as I'm concerned, that's his role. He did far better with it than he did with GREEN LANTERN and let's face it he IS the merc with the mouth.
So far we know that visual effects guru Tim Miller will be directing an adaption written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (ZOMBIELAND - which I LOVED!).
Bleeding Cool has Rob Liefeld (comic artist) talking about DEADPOOL at the Amazing Arizona Comic Con - check out the video clip!
Liefeld: "They’ve got a great director on the movie, they’ve got a great script. I may or may have not seen some sort of test of footage that would blow your mind if you saw it and go holy crap and that’s Deadpool in costume. Katana swords, guns, shooting people’s faces off and making me laugh. And I may or may not have seen something that looks just like that. And you’ve got what would amount to the first R Rated X-Men movie. Because that script is R Rated. They may or may not have wanted to shoot eight minutes to see how it would play. And all I can tell you, it’s close. It’s closer that it’s ever been to going, or going Naaah, that’s too scary a proposition to make a R Rated Deadpool movie.”
Allow me to repeat for emphasis guys: R-RATED.
If you're wondering why we are talking about Fox for these features and not Marvel themselves is because Fox licensed these characters from Marvel and I'm fairly sure if they don't do something soon with these intellectual properties, they will lose them.
FANTASTIC FOUR could have been much more but it did initiate Chris Evans to superhero fans and thus his eventual acceptance of the Cap role. I want a much better reboot for FANTASTIC FOUR though.
Variety reports that director Josh Trank (CHRONICLE) has had several high level meetings with Fox executives about helming the FANTASTIC FOUR project. Rumor has it the job is his especially if CHRONICLE is well received (and it WILL be).
So, Fox - all the power to ya! Get on DEADPOOL at least! We need a feature film on this character PRONTO and I would love to see more from Josh Trank too...
Jim here. There is going to be lots o' news in the coming days so I will try to condense some of the swell by using 3D Shorts:
3 Pop Labs (imcube) has set up a Los Angeles services company to convert 2D properties to 3D. Brian Quandt will be heading up the operation. Says Quandt: “When I show Hollywood insiders the results of the imcube stereoscopic conversion process they are blown away by the quality. And when I share with them how rapid and cost-effective the conversion process can be, they pull out their calculators and get really excited.”
Quandt has other innovative tools including RushPlay and RushPlay 3D that have been used on over thirty major feature films in the past two years, including Year One, Julie and Julia and Love Ranch.
Other 2D to 3D conversion companies include PassmoreLab and In-Three. Certainly seems to be a booming business! And rightly so - plenty of existing library needs to be converted and of course S3D post production for new movies!!

Is SPIDER-MAN 4 going to be shot in S3D or what?? My sources tell me yes and Sony is definitely a soup to nuts 3D company now. So that makes sense.
Sam Raimi is having words with the studio over a number of things including what villain to immortalize. I originally uncovered that The Lizard would be the sole antagonist, but Variety is now reporting that Raimi is backing The Vultureas his prime choice. Sony wants The Black Cat plus another criminal to keep spidey busy.
So because of all this villain villainy, writer after writer has been called in to try and piece together something that works for as many inside people as possible.
The end result is a LOT of confusion. One thing is for sure though - shooting has been delayed and with that comes a later release date too (possibly late summer 2011). You can't hurry special effects all that much. I am glad that Raimi is giving this his all - it improves my confidence in this iteration after what happened in SPIDER-MAN 3.

COWBOYS AND ALIENS 3D?? Could be according to The Daily Beast. They are saying that the AVATAR effect could sway Jon Favreau (who loves 3D) and DreamWorks to shoot in S3D.
The story is about aliens invading the old west Earth - cowboys are about the only thing around to defend the world! A great writing team is behind this: Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. (via SuperHeroHype)
Yes please. I'll take this in 3D in a heartbeat. Now if we can just get Favreau shooting 3D for everything on his plate... *cough* IRONMAN *cough*. You KNOW you want to do it. Don't leave that cash on the table dude.

And how about DEADPOOL? We know Marvel is VERY in tune with S3D. And this was before 3D hungry Disney bought them out!So could it happen? YOU BET. And with "The AVATAR Effect", it should be sooner than later. :-)
Variety is now reporting that Zombieland writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be penning DEADPOOL.
