3D Geek Alert: Fujifilm's 3D Consumer Camera In Development

Thanks to Tim W. for sending in this item! A very cool consumer grade 3D camera may well be hitting the shelves soon by way of Fujifilm. They have a 2 lens camera but that is not the only component being waved around - they have also introduced a 3D digital photo frame and 3D print technology. They are calling the whole thing the "FUJIFILM FinePix Real 3D System".

Why on earth would they include the word "Real" when there is already a rather large going concern known as "Real D" also involved in 3D technologies (and have a consumer arm as well) is beyond me. Perhaps looking for publicity through a lawsuit? There is sure to be corrective action taken with that I assume.

Regardless, the technology looks very interesting in that they are offering the full meal ticket from camera to frame to photos. The idea is to have it all work seamlessly and simply for the average consumer. I think they are on to something!

Let's hope we hear more about this technology (probably with a different name next time) and be able to check them out at a CES show sometime soon.
