**UPDATED - Is This A Jaeger From PACIFIC RIM?

**POTENTIAL SPOILERS**

**UPDATE: Apparently not. Guillermo has stated that this clip has nothing to do with PACIFIC RIM. Oh well. Still nice.

WHOA. A very nice spoiler if it's true and certainly the footage is bound to have some pedigree from Guillermo del Toro's PACIFIC RIM due to the nature of the visual FX company Mirada and the guy who owns it: Guillermo del Toro.

Due to the nature of the video and the screencaps I have posted for you, you are risking a pristine viewing experience by going further. You have been warned.

Watch: Cool Behind The Scenes Clips From PIRANHA 3DD Featuring The Hoff And Gary Busey!

Behind the scenes!! Love these. Check out these two B roll clips from PIRANHA 3DD featuring David Hasselhoff and Gary Busey.

Look at those wonderful RED cameras in 3D configuration! Things of beauty...

Here's the movie's storyline:
Having awoken from their spring break extravaganza at Lake Victoria, the swarm heads upstream where they look to make a meal out of Big Wet, a local water park where when it comes to fun, nobody does it wetter! Though they came to get wet, get loaded and get some, the staff and patrons get more than they bargained for when they must face the fiercest, most bloodthirsty piranhas yet. Lead by the strong-willed, studious Maddy and her friends, Barry and Kyle, the trio must dive in and take on these man-eating creatures using every ounce of their being…but can they be stopped? Shot in 3-D and feauturing Esquire Magazine’s “2011 Sexiest Woman Alive,” Katrina Bowden and the return of Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer and Ving Rhames alongside fresh bait Gary Busey and David Hasselhoff, the film that took an $80 Million bite out of the box office is back for more…only this time it has double the terror and double the D!

Look for PIRANHA 3DD on June 1.

Two AWESOME New Clips Of James Cameron: "TITANIC Was Split In Two Like A Banana!"

Guys - check these clips out! Apparently these clips are part of a documentary that National Geographic will be airing soon. I don't want to spoil it for you guys - so have a watch!! :-) They're from a Norwegian site.

Here's the movie's synopsis:
Brock Lovett is a treasure hunter looking for a famous diamond among the debris of the Titanic. He finds a sketch in a safebox in which a young woman is wearing the diamond on a necklace. After showing the drawing on a TV program, Rose Dawson, an old lady comes forward claiming to be the woman in the drawing. She is brought to the explorer's vessel to help them determine the location of the diamond, but instead she tells everyone the "real" story of Titanic's sinking. She was a 17 year-old rich girl sailing to the USA to get married with Cal Hockley. Her mother was forcing her to get married so she felt trapped inside her own world. During the trip she tries to commit suicide and she is saved by Jack Dawson, a third-class passenger who travels around making pencil drawings. They get to know each other better until they fall in love. Hockley and Rose's mother try to separate them several times. Amidst all this confusion the Titanic hits an iceberg and starts to sink.

Here are the clips!

Gotta love it! Thanks for the anonymous tip whoever you were! If you haven't seen TITANIC 3D yet - get out and relive it. I was amazed at the new things I saw for what must be my 50th time watching it. The 3D conversion was amazing and the story? Well count all those Oscars... :-)

MUST WATCH: Behind The Scenes Of GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE!

Wow. My mouth was literally wide open when I saw the first wired action scene in this clip from GHOST RIDER: SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE and I'm pretty sure yours will be too! I have NEVER heard of a director personally going to these lengths before to get the perfect shot, let alone two of them.

You see Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor (CRANK, GAMER) are co-directors who like to man the camera, much like James Cameron does in most of his movies. But the way they tackle these extreme shots is pretty amazing.

Even their handheld work looks completely action oriented and very animated. It will be interesting to see how this all converts to 3D as a general rule of thumb is that handheld shots have to be gentle as we don't want a headache inducing experience at the theater. I am hoping they have conquered this hurtle in post because it doesn't look like they are holding back in these clips! I am amazed at some of these shots...

Have a look for yourself!

Here's the storyline:
Nicolas Cage returns as Johnny Blaze in Columbia Pictures’ and Hyde Park Entertainment’s Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. In the successor to the worldwide hit Ghost Rider, Johnny – still struggling with his curse as the devil’s bounty hunter – is hiding out in a remote part of Eastern Europe when he is recruited by a secret sect of the church to save a young boy (Fergus Riordan) from the devil (Ciaran Hinds). At first, Johnny is reluctant to embrace the power of the Ghost Rider, but it is the only way to protect the boy – and possibly rid himself of his curse forever. Directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. Screenplay by Scott M. Gimple & Seth Hoffman and David S. Goyer. Story by David S. Goyer. Based on the Marvel Comic. Produced by Steven Paul, Ashok Amritraj, Michael De Luca, Avi Arad, and Ari Arad.

Stay tuned! I am actually interviewing Jenny Fulle who is the Visual Effects Producer on SPIRIT OF VENGEANCE tomorrow! I'm really looking forward to this movie and hopefully it sets this franchise back on track after the first go around. It certainly deserves top line treatment!

There will be an embargo on the interview for awhile, but it will be something to look forward to before the movie opens February 17. Hang on! Looks like a heckuva ride comin'!

THE AVENGERS At NYCC 2011 - Trailer Most Viewed Ever On iTunes! New Short Featuring Agent Coulson!!

We have some Avenger photos / clips for you from the NYCC 2011 show - wish I was there this year!

Mark Ruffalo was a surprise visitor apparently as it was not advertised he would be there, but why not? He is an Avenger after all.

Love the energy in that room for the panel! A lot of confidence being displayed - I guess I would be confident of my movie too if it had 10 million trailer downloads on iTunes in the first 24 hours (Oct 11)! That my friends, is a new record.

Marvel has also released a new short featuring Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg - who is also on the Avengers panel clip). The clip will also be on the CAPTAIN AMERICA DVD / Blu-ray coming out October 25. Great to see him in action! Hope that carries through to THE AVENGERS.

Here are the clips (the panel is first followed by Coulson's short) - ENJOY!

New TANGLED Clip: Grounded For Life!

Fresh from Disney's Facebook page comes a new clip entitled: TANGLED: Grounded For Life. Disney is emulating old style television for the video and it's nicely done.

Storyline:
When the rogue Flynn Rider (Zachary Levi) chooses an isolated tower for his latest hideout, he has no idea the tower is already occupied by a princess who was kidnapped as an infant by the greedy Mother Gothel (Donna Murphy). Rapunzel (Mandy Moore), who can use her magical hair to heal, sees the devil-may-care bandit as her escape from the tower and a chance at a life of adventure – one that may reunite her with her long-lost parents and restore her royal heritage.

Red Band Clip From SAW 3D! SPOILER!!

If you are squeamish, underage or at work think twice about watching this red band clip from SAW 3D. The title of the clip ('Jill's Demise') is not hidden, however given that you have probably seen the trailers (which highlight some of this scene) then you could most likely guess what happens anyway.

SAW 3D is only a week away now and the excitement is building :-) Will this truly be the last SAW movie? How on earth is this thing wrapped up? Will Jigsaw be rebooted?

SAW 3D opens October 29.

MUST SEE: The First 5 Minutes Of Dreamworks Animation's MEGAMIND!

Want to get a better idea of what is in store for us with November 5th's release of Dreamworks Animation's MEGAMIND? How about watching a good chunk of the opening of the movie? I thought so!

Here's the storyline:
"Megamind" (Will Ferrell) is the most brilliant super–villain the world has ever known... and the least successful. Over the years, he has tried to conquer Metro City in every imaginable way – Each attempt, a colossal failure thanks to the caped superhero known as "Metro Man," (Brad Pitt) until the day Megamind actually defeats him in the throes of one of his botched evil plans. Suddenly, the fate of Metro City is threatened when a new villain arrives and chaos runs rampant, leaving everyone to wonder: Can the world's biggest "mind" actually be the one to save the day?

Check out the first five minutes of MEGAMIND!

Let's see if this thing takes off. Certainly the voice cast is stellar and the animation looks pretty darn good. 3D is typically flawless with animations - bring it on!

Must Watch: Two More Clips From THE LAST AIRBENDER!

We have two more eye catching scenes from the upcoming M. Night Shyamalan 3D adventure THE LAST AIRBENDER. Too bad they are not in higher resolution, but you can definitely catch the excitement.

So just what are we getting ourselves into here with THE LAST AIRBENDER? To me it is looking more and more like one heckuva ride. Take these two clips for example: The effects look extremely well done and they blend in nicely with young, yet characterized actors who look truly invested in the scenes. In my opinion, this is nothing less than a blockbuster waiting to happen. Assuming the story fits with its own dogma.

Check out the clips below!

What do you think? Are you up for this movie or what?

Roundtable Discussion With: Cameron, Bigelow, Jackson, Reitman, Tarantino And Daniels

Jim here. Right off - let me share with you the best part of the whole THR clip: Quentin Tarantino swipes half of Peter Jackson's glass of water; the look on Jackson's face is immeasurable!! (at about the 2 minute mark)

Other than that obvious piece of funny business, the group of six directors have a great conversation and well worth the time to watch it:

Next, you can click through here and here to see a couple other clips from the same table - and I will say that Reitman comes across here as a very charming director and clearly influenced by his father (not a bad thing). Would have loved to hear Cameron and Reitman discuss 3D though :-)

Interesting how Tarantino is not interested AT ALL in digital filmmaking and wants to stick with his 35mm. Probably not that surprising though as he is a purist and loves the nostalgia of film. Good luck at the awards guys!

Zoe and Sam Discuss AVATAR With Cameron!

Jim here. I really like how these guys put this short piece together and you should really see it: Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington and Jim Cameron sit down and discuss AVATAR. (Hopefully there will more in a series of these! - Thanks A@ronW for the heads up)

Cameron is a master of storytelling and he really has all of his ducks lined up for Pandora. He personally designed the Thanator and heavily influenced the other creature designs, like what was originally the Banshee Ray. Of course he wrote AVATAR.

But he doesn't stop at just being an artist, writer and driving creativity. He also operates the cameras, applies makeup and of course everything else that a writer, producer and director does.

They obviously have a lot of pride in what they have accomplished and are anxious for the world to share in it...

Yes - I would imagine it would hurt if an AMP suit stepped on your foot! Kinda like what AVATAR is going to do to TWILIGHT very soon! :-)

Awesome New AVATAR Featurette Narrated By Signourney Weaver!

Jim here. Got a special featurette for you to view - **there are some spoilers in it so be careful.**

The vistas are STUNNING. Love how Cameron is mixing in real and plausible science - makes it so much more immersive.

Check out the clip here.

I knew the woodsprites would have a role in this thing! :-) Thanks for the heads up Naite22!

Breaking AVATAR News!

Jim here. Got a lot of AVATAR updates here (some are time sensitive) so let's get to it!

1. At NOON today, Fox will release a fully interactive AVATAR trailer utilizing Adobe Air technology. Techland got the goods on this one - the trailer will be available on AVATARMOVIE.COM. It will contain profiles on Jake and Neytiri and also designs for the Samson, Banshee, Scorpion, Thanator and AMP Suit. The following clip is from that new trailer technology (thanks Jsayson15!):

2. A matte painter who works for Weta in Wellington just confirmed that they have finished the final remaining shots: Of course you heard it here first :-) They did indeed hoist a drink to celebrate - champagne (thanks Shletten!).

3. The new higher resolution thanator chase scene with James Horner's music courtesy of IGN:

4. And lastly, as some of the work for AVATAR is winding down to a halt we have a personal rebuttal to some of the old negative words that have been said about this epic project. This is straight from a creative employee on the AVATAR team and from the heart:

Dear CHUD.com:
Are your feelings towards AVATAR really your own? Or, are they biased in any way? It really is a shame that you find the need to insult us time after time, rather than wait to see if the insults you throw at us hold any justification. Every aspect of this movie has been poured over by the most talented people in the business. Why? "Hopefully" for your eventual enjoyment. So I am writing to you directly in the hope of reaching that part of you that can understand where I am coming from. If you had put in the hours, days, months and years in on a project that you knew was groundbreaking, and would change the way future movie makers would be able to get projects from mind to page to screen, not to mention have created what I consider to be a genuine classic in the process. Would you not feel that little bit justified in defending your work?

So please consider the many thousands of people that have all come together to create this for your festive enjoyment. I think rather than criticism, your articles "Devin`s in particular" are more geared towards insulting a lot of talented people, and do not from what I gather contain any valid arguments. At least not until you have seen it. So why not just wait and see?

We await proving you entirely wrong in your... ahem "criticism"
.

Yes the hype has been huge, but in that very rare case, this time it is justified. By all means don't believe me. "I'm sure you will not" see for yourself. But please try not to insult the people that work for your enjoyment. I guarantee you this is on a scale never seen before. Oh and it delivers on the hype. In spades. I can not wait for the world to witness the revolution. This is James Cameron's masterpiece. I do not say those words lightly, anyone even slightly familiar with Jim's filmography knows that is a bold statement.

It is isnt it.

Best

The Thundersmurf.

Interesting. Over to you Devin?

AVATAR Avalanche: 4 Minute Clip! New Neytiri Photo! Game Developer Interview!

**UPDATE: Nov 18 - Fox has asked for us to remove the video clip. I am complying. Hope you enjoyed while it was there!

Jim here. New AVATAR items are popping up everywhere!

Lets start with a revealing video clip of the Thanator chase from AVATAR Day. As it is possible to embed the clip, I am doing so but with the following exclaimer:

**WARNING: SPOILER ALERT**
If you did not make it to AVATAR Day, you WILL be seeing an entire scene from the movie here in LOW 2D RESOLUTION - far from the ideal environment. The scene will be much more powerful in 3D and on the big screen. You have been warned.

It has apparently been captured by camcorder from an XBOX 360 in France.

**VIDEO CLIP REMOVED AS PER FOX REQUEST**

I have decided to watch it as I would have gone to AVATAR Day if it was available in my area. It was not. But we only get the chance to see AVATAR for the first time ONCE, so think about it. For those skipping it - you should skip many of the comments too just in case a spoiler is mentioned.

Next up is a stunning new image of Neytiri courtesy of USAToday / Comingsoon!

New interview with Kevin Shortt (AVATAR THE GAME - Wii) over at worthplaying.com. Here is a short excerpt:

The Wii version of the game acts as something of a prequel and happens before the events in the movie. Do the PS3 and X360 versions happen in parallel with the movie, before the movie or after the movie?
KS: The next-gen version happens two years before the movie happens. If you placed us on a timeline, you would have the Wii game first, and then it would be the next-gen game and then the film. None of these are prequels. One doesn't necessarily lead to the other and then the other. Instead, it's about expanding the universe of Pandora. The moon has so many regions, so many possible stories, and each one of them shows one particular story.

Will we see any crossover in characters, or is the game totally self-contained?
KS: You definitely see crossovers between the game and the film. The reason we set it two years apart was because we didn't want to give anything away of the movie, so two years is a good distance that we aren't going to cross over, but it also allows us to introduce some characters that you know from the film into the game. We've got Sigourney Weaver, who plays Grace Augustine. She's one of the first people you'll meet in the game, and you meet her throughout. We've got Michelle Rodriguez, who plays your chopper pilot in the game. We've also got Stephen Lang, who plays Colonel Quaritch in the movie; he also appears in the game.

Story-wise, having seen the trailer and seeing some of the gameplay demos, I've got to ask if you're playing as the Na'vi in an Avatar body, what's to stop the RDA folks from knocking on your little Avatar coffin and knocking you out right there?

KS: That was certainly one of the things that we had to consider, but we definitely do consider it. I don't actually want to give away what it is, but for sure, that is answered. In fact, as soon as you choose to be a Na'vi, that kind of becomes one of the first things that you have to do very quickly. Now you're a Na'vi, somebody's got to go get your human body before they disconnect you, or else it's game over. Yeah, it gets addressed in the game.

More when we get it!

Set Footage From "Final Destination: Death Trip 3D"

Jim here. Just got wind of some spy set footage from FINAL DESTINATION: DEATH TRIP 3D and it is pretty cool. I love seeing behind the scenes clips!

Anyway in this video, they are shooting a sequence where a construction worker's scaffolding tips over leaving him dangling from a window ledge. Kinda cool how the clip ends with a shot of a coffee shop named "Death By Caffeine".

Also there is a nice shot of the camera system being used - The Pace Fusion System if I am not mistaken. It looks gorgeous!

There is nothing here to really spoil anything for anyone so don't worry about ruining your movie experience.

So have a look - there is an HD version too if you like...

Panasonic Working With James Cameron To Release "Avatar" In 3D Blu-ray For Easter 2010?

Wow. Jim here - I have always been worried that there will be another format war centered on the 3D home entertainment market as the industry comes to grips with the task of uniting everyone. Now comes word that Panasonic has been secretly working with James Cameron and in particular, a little project known as AVATAR. Their goal? To introduce Panasonic's open 3D technology to the public using a fully blown out, 3D HD release of AVATAR on Blu-ray by Easter of 2010!

DVDTown states that this info comes via "industry insiders". Apparently, clips of AVATAR have been shown to select audiences to show off their 3D Home Videos capability. (By the way, www.3DHomeVideos.com points to MarketSaw - heh). I actually got wind of this a couple weeks ago when a reader sent me a note saying that a clip of AVATAR had been shown at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. I have been trying like crazy to get a view of this material, but no go thus far.

If you are reading this and you have seen the advance previews of AVATAR, drop me a email will ya? jim (at) marketsaw (dot) com. That's an order! :-)
