First Look: Teaser Trailer For FANTASIC FOUR Hits

I think Fox's FANTASTIC FOUR may have finally got it right. They certainly have the right director in Josh Trank (CHRONICLE) and cast with Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell. Obviously it's hard to get an understanding from just a teaser, but my impression is that the story is having a lot of attention paid to it this time around.

Matthew Vaughn (KICK ASS, X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST, KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE) is a Producer on this movie as well giving FANTASTIC FOUR a fine pedigree indeed. I think we are finally in for a treat with this franchise.

Here's the storyline:
FANTASTIC FOUR, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel’s original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

FANTASTIC FOUR opens in theaters August 7, 2015

Watch: Full Sized Teaser Trailer For Marvel's ANT-MAN

Ok so this is not the teaser for the teaser for the trailer, this is now the teaser for the trailer and I cut if off here. I won't post on trailers that don't show anything like the tiny one Marvel released earlier in the week and I'm sure you won't mind. But this teaser actually does show shots from the movie and first looks at several characters like Corey Stall and Evangeline Lilly - so have a look!

You can view the whole trailer coming up on the two-hour series premiere of "Marvel's Agent Carter" Tuesday, January 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC!

Here's the storyline for the movie:
Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Official Teaser Trailer For Dwayne Johnson's SAN ANDREAS!

I've been waiting for this! I do get a flashback to Emmerich's 2012 with a few scenes in this. I was hoping for a more accurate depiction of what a large scale fault event would look like, but judging from having a huge crevice open up just in front of the movie's protagonist and ripping a gas station EXACTLY in half, it seems this may be more of a popcorn movie. Still, that's fine by me as long as expectations are communicated well.

Dwayne Johnson can carry just about any movie so I'm not worried about being entertained, but I still have high hopes for some realistic action - I don't want to have to work too hard at suspension of disbelief.

SAN ANDREAS is a 3D conversion headlined by Graham Clark of Stereo D - these are the guys that do the lion-share of the Marvel universe conversions, so they are getting pretty darn good at it.

Here's the movie's storyline and description:
After the infamous San Andreas Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only daughter.

But their treacherous journey north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s just getting started.

The action thriller “San Andreas,” from New Line Cinema and Village Roadshow Pictures, reunites Dwayne Johnson with director Brad Peyton and producer Beau Flynn, following their collaboration on the global hit “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.”

The film also stars Carla Gugino (“Night at the Museum,” TV’s “Entourage”), Alexandra Daddario (“Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters,” TV’s “True Detective”), Ioan Gruffudd (“Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”), Archie Panjabi (TV’s “The Good Wife”), Hugo Johnstone-Burt (Australian TV’s “Home and Away”), Art Parkinson (TV’s “Game of Thrones”) and Oscar nominee Paul Giamatti (“Cinderella Man”).

“San Andreas” is produced by Beau Flynn (“Hercules,” “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island”). Tripp Vinson (“Red Dawn”) also serves as producer. Richard Brener, Samuel J. Brown, Michael Disco, Rob Cowan, and Bruce Berman are the executive producers, and Hiram Garcia is co-producer. The screenplay is by Carlton Cuse, story by Andre Fabrizio & Jeremy Passmore.

The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Steve Yedlin (“Looper”), production designer Barry Chusid (“The Day After Tomorrow”), editor Bob Ducsay (upcoming “Godzilla”), VFX producer Randall Starr (upcoming “Into the Storm”), VFX supervisor Colin Strause (“The Avengers”), and costume designer Wendy Chuck (“Twilight”).

Shot on location in The Gold Coast and Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and in Los Angeles and San Francisco, “San Andreas” is slated to open in theatres in both 3D and 2D format on Friday, May 29, 2015.

New Line Cinema presents, in association with Village Roadshow Pictures, a FlynnPictureCo. Production, “San Andreas.” It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company, and in select territories by Village Roadshow Pictures.

SAN ANDREAS opens on May 29, 2015.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Teaser Trailer Lands

Tim here, and the Teaser Trailer for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is here! It's the final Hobbit movie, and it looks insane already. Check it out below:

First thoughts are: WOW! I love how the logos fly by at the very beginning. They would look so cool in stereo 3D, and I hope that I can see it in front of Guardians of the Galaxy this Friday in 3D. And the native 3D for the production should be over the top with 3ality Technica manning the camera rigs! We barely get glimpses of the action that is to come in the movie. We see a brief shot of Smaug bringing devastation to Laketown, followed by a shot of the aftermath. I definitely get a sense of the "calm before the storm" type of pacing with this teaser trailer. There's plenty of shots leading up to the big titular battle, and possibly some shots from it. I will say that the cinematography, color, and VFX presented within are already impressive.
The movie hits theaters December 17th, 2014 in IMAX 3D, RealD 3D, HFR 3D, and regular flavor 2D. We can also expect a full theatrical trailer in the fall, probably around October.

Teaser For DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES Trailer That's Coming May 8

Here we go! I'm definitely feeling the anticipation for DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and I love this teaser trailer. If your going to do a trailer for a trailer you absolutely must do it right. It's got to be short, concise and innvoative in some way - in others words, worth your time to watch it. I've watched it a dozen times so this is definitely a success for the movie's Instagram account.

Simply love how Caesar looks! If you haven't checked out Tim's exclusive interview with Andy Serkis (pictured above perf-capping Caesar) - I recommend it.

DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES opens on July 11. The new trailer launches May 8 - stay tuned! This is a native 3D production shot using industry leading 3ality Technica 3D rigs.

New Teaser Trailer For PEANUTS From Fox And Blue Sky

Yes, the loveable characters from the late Charles Schulz are back in PEANUTS and in fact the Schulz family are deeply involved again with Charles' son Craig (producer) and Craig's son Bryan (script co-writer).

As you can see in the teaser, we are seeing some minute changes to the animation that will also bring in stereoscopic 3D from our friends over at Blue Sky Studios (ICE AGE, RIO, EPIC). The movie's storyline remains unpublished at this time. More when we get it!

PEANUTS is slated for a Nov 6, 2015 opening.

MALEFICENT Reveals Wings - Full Trailer Tomorrow

Once upon a time... Maleficent had wings; but they were lost - and we don't know why. I'm assuming the full trailer that is being released tomorrow may shed more light on the matter, or more mystery. Perhaps on the play on the trope of angels losing their wings as punishment for breaking dogma.

The movie is really starting to fill out very well. I can see the production value Disney is putting into the movie as the marketing material is being released and I think we're in for a rather interesting ride. Stay tuned for the trailer tomorrow!

Here's the storyline for the movie:
MALEFICENT explores the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the classic SLEEPING BEAUTY and the elements of her betrayal that ultimately turn her pure heart to stone. Driven by revenge and a fierce desire to protect the moors over which she presides, Maleficent cruelly places an irrevocable curse upon the human king’s newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Aurora is caught in the middle of the seething conflict between the forest kingdom she has grown to love and the human kingdom that holds her legacy. Maleficent realizes that Aurora may hold the key to peace in the land and is forced to take drastic actions that will change both worlds forever.

MALEFICENT opens in 3D and flat on May 30.

First Teaser Trailer For Disney's MALEFICENT Arrives

I haven't given any judgement on MALEFICENT yet. I'm on the fence. Could be a bomb or a huge win - likely the later. But it had better be good for Angelina Jolie who gave up what seems to be an Oscar nod for turning down the lead in GRAVITY. Now THAT's a bad move. The Sandra Bullock role is once in a lifetime if you ask me. But I digress.

I don't find Jolie's character all that intimidating actually. The horns look cool, but just some extended cheekbones and some contact lenses? Sure it's early on in the movie. Likely there are some surprises to that end as the movie progresses and Maleficent turns more, shall we say, evil.

I did like the Pandora like environment in a few scenes. It is certain Disney spared no expense in getting this thing done. At this stage though, I was hoping for more.

Here's the storyline:
From Disney comes MALEFICENT—the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic SLEEPING BEAUTY. A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

MALEFICENT opens on May 30, 2014 in 3D and in flat.

Teaser Trailer for Gravity Released!

Tim here, and I'm very exciting to help reveal the very first teaser trailer for Alfonso Cuarón's Gravity! It's his first movie since 2006's Children for Men, and it looks like another masterpiece from the reknowned director.

Here's the synopsis for Gravity:

Sandra Bullock plays Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (George Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone–tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth…and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.

GRAVITY opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on October 4.

First Peek At Alfonso CaurĂ³n's GRAVITY!

It's not much as far as length, but George Clooney's in a space suit again - how great is that? I am itching to see more of this thing and Entertainment Tonight promises more on Thursday. Aside from the anticipation for just how Cauron will pull it off (including his amazingly long opening take), seeing Clooney and Sandra Bullock in orbiting peril will be dynamite.

Even more exciting (for me anyway) is the fact the Cauron and his son Jonas wrote it. When a director is involved with multiple facets of his/her movie, that's when you know it's a personal passion play. It's kind of like when a musician writes his own material. It's just... better.

Here's the storyline for the movie:
Dr. Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney). But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone—tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they've lost any link to Earth... and any chance for rescue.

GRAVITY opens on October 4.

Cool Trailer Teaser For THE WOLVERINE And Two New Posters!

James Mangold's THE WOLVERINE just released a cool new teaser via Twitter for his upcoming trailer which will be dropping on Wednesday.

It looks action packed as you would expect from a Marvel movie and it does whet the appetite for what's coming.

As far as the posters go, I think it'll be intriguing to see Wolverine in Japan - I haven't read the comics for the character so I will be walking in fresh. The last poster seems to me to be a flashback to the old martial art movie posters - what do you think?

Here's the storyline for the movie:
Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

THE WOLVERINE opens on July 26. Bring it on!
